RE: Does the sound of a voice make the person?

I was going to mention something about it, during the discussions about Marilyn Monroe. Here's my chance... I've never been a fan of Marilyn Monroe. I guess that I was about 10 or 11 years old, before I recognized the face with the name and questioned: Why is this woman acting like a giddy school girl and seemingly cutesy most of the time ? I thought, "I don't know any adult that behaves like this". And the voice to me, seemed out-of-place, but for the fame of Marilyn, seems that her voice accounted for at least 60% of her success.

RE: chess is a game of torture

And the computer cardgame of 'Hearts', also... I've won only 17 game and have 'Shot The Moon' 6 times: out of 250 games against the computer. I have a feeling that the computer has an advantage of knowing where the Queen of Spades is, all of the time. mumbling

RE: How do you spend your time on CS?

yay After I login! I glance at the screen and go prepare dinner, and while dinner is cooking, I return to the computer and refresh the screen. Then I slip into bed clothes and eat dinner while looking at Connecting Singles. Then I may wash a few clothes, take out the garbage, check the weather channel for tomorrow's forecast and of course, faithfully refresh the screen and glance at Connecting Singles pages before showering. After cleansing my sinful-self, return to the screen to refresh it and after a glance, I use the restroom and retire for the night. This routine is not exactly the same every night, but is an example of a successful session here at Connecting Singles. wine

RE: From the Book of Useless Information

Ketchup: Or Ke-tchup by Chinese sailors, one of the first recipes on record dates back to 544 A.D. and instructs any prospective condiment maker to: 'Take the intestine, stomach and bladder of the yellow fish, the shark and the mullet and wash them well, mix them with a moderate amount of salt and place them in a jar. Seal tightly and incubate in the sun. It will be ready in twenty days in the summer, fifty days in the spring or fall, and a hundred days in the winter'... No tomato in that recipe. hmmm Sounds like trying to make tuna salad, without the tuna.

RE: All women are crazy

This is a for fun poll!

My son (26) and I are driving and talking. He says to me: All women are crazy. So I gave him the evil eye and said: "Hey, you forget who you're talking to." He looks back at me and says: "Yeah?! .. you too!"
Oh that's classic, you should write that down, have him sign it and store it in your family scrapbook. I found it touching. wine

RE: do you loose motivation sometimes to reply to messages?

wow Oh damn, I may have sounded like a beast! Really folks, I'm in a position, in life, where I need to take care of conditions, alone. So, I am only here, for the forums and blogs.

RE: do you loose motivation sometimes to reply to messages?

wave I certainly understand, Sir... I can't remember how, or when I started replying, using that standard stand-by, but it seems to work for all intents and purposes.

RE: do you loose motivation sometimes to reply to messages?

Not a matter of motivation for me, but preparation. As a member, I feel it is a duty to reply, at least once..."Thank you for your message. These days, I'm only here to comment on the forums and blogs. I wish you all of the best here and I hope that special person appears in your life soon"... - By now, I believe that I could type that with me eyes closed - . cool

RE: Now What OBAMA?

Getting back to why ISIS is created, is not clear at this stage. It usually takes a few years, or a generation or two, before we know the real story. We certainly know now that in the 1800s, the U.S. Government would help the stronger Indian tribes, kill other enemy Indian tribes and then treaties were broken by the Federal Government and the vicious cycle would start all over again, until all Indian tribes were to small to fight anyone. Little did the American Indians know, that the only way to fight the settlers and the Federal troops, would have been, to band together... Love, not War... The world won't learn this lesson, until it's too late... Even now, we see Islamic factions: In different groups, kill each other... Similar to the fall of the American Indians, are many of the same examples of why the Ottoman Empire fell also. I'm not talking about the efforts of one country against another, but seeing an outcome of nations that conquer from having the belief of God and his son Jesus. As corrupt as some of the Kings of England may have been, they gave us the translation from the Hebrew text and eventually spawned the greatest countries in the world with the most personal liberties in the world.

RE: Now What OBAMA?

wave Oh of course not, Islamic bashing is still a given, to a religion that is hell-bent on getting there. Yes Sir, a good Christian and an even better American.wine As I recall, you were about to join ISIS a few months ago. Must be stronger in the faith by now. So tell us, what has Allah done for you lately ? Found a new tunnel for you to dwell in, put oil in your lamp, cause your carpet to fly ?

RE: Now What OBAMA?

wave Thanks for the thread, Mr.59... I haven't been bashing ISIS or ISIL lately due to latest information over the last few months. I don't yet have full confidence about it, but there are too many reports about it, to be ignored. Time will tell. As always, things get confusing when it comes to the activities of Governments. It's difficult for me to type the following, but the truth may be, that ISIS is created by those that are in charge of our best interest. Stop. I can't continue like this... So let me tell it as a bedtime story: Once Upon A Time, several years ago, America said to Israel, "Destroy Iran". Israel answered, "We can't, because Syria has a lot of retaliatory weapons". End Of Story, until further developments... A lot of variables concerning ISIS looks fishy. They seem to receive funding and equipment out-of-thin-air. Videos and images of slaughtering by ISIS, may be staged in many instances.

RE: Men.. Would you date a woman, who doesn't eat?

I haven't really thought about it in the past, but I don't see that it would be a problem, nor a big deal... yay I will prepare for her, milk shakes, protein powder shakes, tomato soup, cream of chicken soup, V8-vegitable drinks, assorted juices and such. wine

RE: OK why does a dog turn his head side way's when he is tying to understand?

wave Thanks for thread, pedro... I suspect dogs may adjust their heads in an attempt to decipher the sound, but one of the coolest things that I've discovered, is to softly whisper to your doggy from a distance. At that point, the dog decides that the sound is to slight to hear, so the dog extends the nose up in the air to see if it can smell what you are saying. dancing dog

RE: LOST THREAD

conversing I have bad days too. Early springtime here and I almost dehydrated a few days ago. Damn, I remember a few years ago, I didn't have to keep my fluid levels up. Just another variable to deal with.

RE: Bored and lonely

wave Oink !

RE: LOST THREAD

sad flower I'm sorry, what has happened today ?

RE: they killed the Kennedys nothing was done

professor At least in America, we allow our leaders to move on to a better place... Russia on the other hand, force this leader to lie around. Might even force feed vodka to the poor rotten commie ... Under his administration, the Russian Empire was replaced by the Soviet Union: All wealth including land, industry and business was confiscated. Based in Marxism, his political theories are know as Leninism.

RE: Continuing 8 letter scrabble with 2 changes

wave Hey Miss hoolet, exsqueeze me, but it's time to post a new 'Word Of The Day' thread, part two... I have a new word of the day.

RE: what you listening to no.11

hmmm Oh my, that opens a new kettle of fish... I'm not a Cowboy. I'm from the city, which makes me a Dude. Though the origins of how the term 'Dude' for a 'man being from the city', is not clear, there are clues that are far too numerous to mention, with that, let us turn to comedy for the answer.
hmmm

RE: what you listening to no.11

College Station, Texas, that is.

RE: what you listening to no.11

wave Oh Hi, Miss!... Yes, Howdy is a greeting that means: How-de-do ?, or How do ye ? which mean: How do you do ?. From the southern dialect dated to 1840. Especially in Texas. It is the official greeting of Texas A&M University in Collage Station... doh I know, if English wasn't difficult enough, some cowboys came along and said, Howdy! cowboy cowboy cowboy
