RE: I went on a bike ride.

Start going for rides every day, man.

You're body is like a machine. Well, in your case, a slightly decrepit machine. Sorry.

Use and it'll get better. Don't and, well, you know what happens, right?handshake

Besides, she sounds like she might be worth the effortwink

RE: Dating with Teenagers

I would say so. But that's very nice, too. My experience is different.

I think my kid's always been very social from early on. Even though we doted on him for many, many years, and kept a tight rein on his comings and going, things have changed.

Since we broke up he's had a whole, huge amount independence.

Sure, he'll spend an evening with me if there's absolutely nothing else or anyone else his own age around. Sad but true.

RE: Dating with Teenagers

You're right, Cyndee! Most kids aren't like that.

Most teenagers most definitely are that way. They really want to associate only with their own kind for the most part.

They hold adults in contempt, for the most part.

My experience. Not just with my son, but his friends and others as well.

RE: Dating with Teenagers

Ignore them. Pretend they don't exist.

That's how teens treat adults for the most part. At least that's how my son treats me.

Kid out of my face dad, but could you please drive me to the mall first?

Forget about them. Don't try to suck up, relate, be sensitive, or anything. Leave them alone.

Best for both them -- and especially you.

Ewwwwwwww, it's a awful age.

RE: Time to fess up.

Think he falls under the definition of Legally Blonde laugh

RE: What are some of the things you do with your children as a single parent?

My son has skated since he was about 4. He has played organized ice hockey ever since and loves it.

I'm kind of sick and tired of the constant driving, changes in schedules, early morning and late evening practices.

He also is an avid snowboarder. In the summer he goes to camp, this year for a month.

He has a fairly good social network of friends. Thank someone.

Next year it's highschool, omg. Hope he doesn't eff up too badly there. So far so good.
