I lived in Margate (Broward) for a few years back in the early 60s. Back then there were a lot of canals and ponds, all kinds of wild life. Our house was on the edge of beautiful woods, people used to hunt and fish. All developed now right to the edge of the Everglades. I still love Johnathon Dickenson State Park. Don't think that's the same any more. Used to camp there together.
I think in the next decade or so the infrastructure for these cars will catch up making them more practical. There are only 13 charging stations in my County. I think the rate varies $.40 per minute. Not sure how long it takes. You can get a rebate for installing one in your home as well from the government around $100. I think there are some concept cars that are charged by solar panels? Weather might be a problem with that.
I helped my ex look for one. Hybrid is a better choice especially if you live in a cold climate and plan road trips. Cold temps lower the range. The Tesla seems to keep average range but at nearly $50k it better last long enough to reach "antique status" as far as I'm concerned and the car is so UGLY!
There was a song back in 1963, "Louie Louie", by the Kingsmen that created a lot of controversy about the lyrics. Supposedly some of the lyrics were considered "dirty" at the time. I think but not sure it was banned on some places. I don't know if they ever figured out just what the lyrics were.
Found this song while watching a "gardening hacks" video. Never heard of the artist. Becoming very popular on YT according to comments left. Seems more like an 80s Style song. Sorry still can't figure ut how to post whole video.
She is best known as "Weena" original movie, "The Time Machine", also starred in the original movie "Where the Boys Are". She had many roles in TV and movies. RIP!
Daytlight savings time starts here March 13th. I wish they would just leave it one way or the other instead of this switching one hour ahead or behind. I prefer more daylight!
I guess costs are relative to where you live. Florida taxes aren't as high. tourist prevents that. Theme park and zoo tickets here are about the same, doesn't cover food and drink once you are in, horrendously expensive. I went to them back when they first opened, never again. Concert tickets, depends who is playing, we do have local concerts all over that are free. The "rain water" situation is pure corruption. Surprised people there don't petition against that, what is it an HOA thing? My Homeowners insurance went up to $1365 a year from $694 in 2019. I asked my rep why, never had a claim, was told "that all ins companies are increasing". I told her is it "monkey see, monkey do or just plain greed?" We are subject to hurricanes tho. She got me a rate of $800 but I would have to pay $400-$500 for another wind mitigation inspection, drives it right back up! All in all not really that bad
I never have seen it televised, not sure if it is an Olympic sport but rowing competitions have always interested me. I wanted to do it, not just watch, get on a team somewhere. Actually looks like fun to me, full body workout, in time with team members, speed!
For me it's being in a pristine forest, surrounded by tall trees. Even as a child loved forests. Any worries I have always seem to fade. Especially on horseback, so miss those days.
My Mother's intelligence /IQ was phenomenal! Was offered scholarships out of school but never accepted. She was very temperamental and often let emotion over ride critical thinking her whole life. She never reached her full potential. Still admire her tho, always will.
Wow, maybe Oregon is the place to be. I'm in Florida, where weather is basically constant. A normal electric bill, $300 for a 3/2 house (what daughter pays). Mine is low about $70-80 a mo but I am very conservative. Rent for a 1bd apt, $1800 mo (what sister pays), duplexes are more, does not include HOA fees usually. It's cheaper to buy now. Utilities, water, garbage pickup went from $35 mo to $60 mo last year. Gas in my area about $3.50 for mid grade, what I use. probably more expensive in bigger cities like Orlando.
I don't see many solar panels, My Ex has a few but they create constant problems with his roof.
I've read so much about alternative fuels, corn oil, even some kinds of algea looked promising. Fossil fuel will probably continue until every last drop is gone. Oil barons, corporations will see to that.
I miss the phones that used to have a physical Qwerty keyboard. Blackberry no longer supported. I think it's amazing how fast people can type on just the screen.!
I had a relationship with someone on CS, lasted almost a year. Ended with a misunderstanding but I was getting annoyed with him anyway.
"Do you want to give you something to cry about?!!!!
My little sister constantly whined. One day my mother had a headache and was laying down. My sister walked into her room with the usual whining. My mother let out a growl like a mountain lion. My little sister flew out of that room like she was being chased by one...lol!
They are about $5.75 for a pack of two in grocery stores here. Bottom Round burgers are wayyyy more expensive, a whole roast maybe two pounds about $20+ dollars! I wouldn't buy meat on Amazon.
RE: Which do you prefer most to do alone with your partner?
