Father of two, Robinson Thompson, was today sentenced to five years imprisonment for walking past a fasting muslim eating a packet of crisps. On passing down the sentence Judge Mohammed Khan said Thompson might have avoided a custodial sentence had the crisps not been smoky bacon flavour. From the steps of Leeds Crown Court, Thompson’s solicitor commented that it was particularly unfortunate because Thompson normally preferred cheese and onion but, on that particular day, he fancied something different.
