Because it's easy to deal with (read harass) normal families and keep appearance of very busy department with high percentage of success.
The same bureaucracy here in NY. While kids who are in a desperate need of help get tortured and die.

Such a terrible fate.

It just freezes my blood.

I do it too often.

I usually don't mind accommodating family members' needs.
But otherwise - if you don't keep your priorities straight, there are always people around who don't see anything wrong with taking advantage, overstepping boundaries and stuff like that... If you let them that is.

it does but I am talking about really old people... when their body and face are ******** , but their partner still sees this 'righteous texture' and beauty in them.

The way I see it: when you are e-dating, the first two (paranoid, realistic... ) is not a bad thing as long as you don't shove it into his face. If all goes well and you proceed to RL-dating phase with this person, 'just insecure' either dissolves on its own or grows
You know what it depends on.

I was thinking about it lately too - the older we grow the more tolerant we become to other people appearance, it's kind of matters less and less .


Lately, I started noticing (and really fascinated with them) these very old couples... you know those who look so unattractive physically (old age ) but there is so much love and light in their eyes and they are all over each other not with passion (at least not in public) but with care and tenderness.

I don't know either it's long marriages that stand the test of time, the love of a lifetime and still in love after fifty or so years, or later-in-life-found love. I think it's former, because seeing beauty in such physical appearance (even simply tolerating it) would probably require growing old together.
