In the movies, most of the trained animals have come from shelters. They are smart, well & easily trained and work for love and affection. Some dogs at the pound are pure breeds that people buy and then give up because the cute puppy grew up or they didn't realize that having a dog would be work. Pure breeds also come with a slew of problems due to inbreeding. I LOVE dogs, even the ones I'm not typically fond of (most especially German Shepherds) and would never want to see any hurt or neglected. Its supply and demand. People keep buying designer dogs, dogs keep ending up in shelters. Check out your shelter first, cut down on designer dog purchases, the breeders slow down on the breeding, shelters will hopefully shrink in population. Just love your dog, whatever you decide to do. Spay or neuter.
Watching more snow fall and cursing the fact that I haven't changed the oil in the snow blower. Schools are all closed due to snow and there's still more to come.
Good day for a pot of chili and fresh bread, I suppose.....
Going to the local pound or shelter and choosing a dog who needs a home. Breed is inconsequential. Time and patience is all that's needed to provide a dog, who has been neglected or abused, a home where loyalty and love will be vastly rewarded. You will know which dog you're supposed to have when you see him/her. Don't forget to look at every dog..... especially the older or shyer ones. Best money you'll ever spend.
Last few things I've binge watched is Downton Abbey. That was roll over funny with the snarkiness going on. And then it was Drag Race. Yeah, I'm admitting to it. LOVE THE SHOW! I need to get makeup tips and cinching pointers from the men. Vavavoom!!
Sometimes all the positive reinforcement you get is from your own psyche. Who cares what anyone else thinks? If you feel better, talk to yourself all you want ...... Psst, just do it silently.....
