RE: Dying of Loneliness

It's a cliché but...….. If you don't like spending time with yourself, why would anyone else??
Don't shoot the messanger. I've been technically single for 10 years, I had been living with a man for 5 years before that but I would still categorize myself as single then too.
I decided to use the time after I took my kids and left to start doing things I wanted to do. I dealt with depression - there are meds for that, anxiety - again meds for that, low esteem, low self worth and loneliness I figured I could just wallow in the mess that was my life or do something about it.
I did things I wanted to do, I congratulated myself on the little things. I brought myself up with each and every little thing I succeeded in and let no one shoot me down. I gave up worrying about the opinions of others - they don't pay my bills and therefore have no say in what I do. I forced myself to do what I thought I could never do - eat in a restaurant by myself and kept doing it until I didn't feel self conscience about it. I learned to accept a compliment and learned how to give one.
I'm self sufficient and can take care of my home. I do outside work and if I really can't do something, I pay someone to do it. The small stuff is no longer worth my sweat nor are the egotistical, narcissistic men that I had been known to let into my life.
So when I am alone, am I lonely??? Nope, I'm enjoying me time and loving it.

RE: You Can Get Anything On The Street These Days

In Little Heart's Ease??? Boy, you've got it made!!

RE: Have you thought of someone else

Unless someone is a total moron, who is to know who or what you're thinking of as long as it gets the job done to the satisfaction of both??
It's one thing to fantasize, it's totally another to act upon it.

To keep it safe, "Oh, God....." is an acceptable name to call...….wink

RE: Back to School

In Newfoundland, schools were closed on March 8th and the announcement was made on March 10th or 11th that they would be closed for the rest of the 2019-20 school year.
An announcement was made last week that due to the expected second wave of covid-19 possibly in September, schools would remain closed until January 2021 but the curriculum would be taught via distance learning.
Are our kids now less immune to germs and viruses than we were at their age? Yes, they can't build up an immunity to anything if they are constantly being bombarded with sanitizer and anti-whatever soaps and sprays. Unless the kids are subjected to some illnesses, they never will. I don't mean we throw them into a vat of whatever bug or germ is available but keeping all kids at home is not a viable option either.
No matter how you view it, it's all going to be a matter of dollars and sense.
