...and her candle that is burning today, and has been now for near 6 hours, tells me that indeed she was looking down upon us with her smiling little face.
My Christmas Eve was spent with 2 of my 3 children and my daughter-in-law,followed by my baby sister and a family friend who joined us for Christmas dinner.
Are Christmas Eve was spent with a warm heart and joyous laughter....we watched old home video's,shared a few cocktails, ate tid bits, listened to music, opened stockings... the sound of there laughter, the glitter in there eyes, the smiles upon there face was that that intoxicated me.
I was embraced of that of my mother, who graced are presence with her spirit, together we all ,each lite a candle and said a few words, acknowledging who she is and how she is not forgotten.
I was encountered by the true meaning of Christmas spirit this year, for I was touched by the magic that fills are hearts and leaves the most valuable memories imbedded in are minds.
...waiting upon my eldest son and his wife to arrive with my grandson,a tea-cup terrior...lol
...for the dough to rise for cinnamon rolls for break before breakfeast with Irish cream and coffee
...for the time to be right that I put the snacks in the oven and cut up all the trimmings to go with it
...to marinate and stuff the turkey for Christmas day
...trying as best I might to thin of all things I have,as apposed to what I have lost, for my mother is playing a major part of my persona this evening...but she is with me in spirt for sure.
..I wish you all a good evening and a pleasent awake.....
I share some of the same thoughts on this issue as you Prncss4

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE
1930's 40's, 50's & 60's
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints and windows were covered with those dreaded lead-loaded venetian blinds.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstation's, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. Our mothers,or grandmothers, advised "you have to eat a peck of dirt before you die." Latex gloves were unknown so I guess we poor souls were left "unprotected."
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
If our marks were not good enough we failed the grade regardless of what it did to our self-esteem! Political Correctness and Social Engineers were unheard of.......thank God.
This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned

I have lived alot of years in my 41 years of living, many of which I may repeat, but none in which I would change, for they have made for the person I have become...and I just happen to like me....
Life for me has had its ups and its downs just like the rest of us...but each journey in are life is just another chapter in are lives...:)
RE: Chase or be Chased?
There can be a thrill in the chase, but also a thrill in being chased. So suppose I would have to say it can be both ways for me....just not with any over kill of course ..tee-hee
