Tomorrow's the day.

Barring any last minute agreement, tomorrow the US goes into default when it runs out of borrowed money and can't pay the interest on its debt.

Things could snowball and we may be on the brink of a big crash of the US economy, and possibly even the world economy.

Personally, tomorrow morning, I'm gonna stock up on food, fuel, and essential needs.

RE: FUTURE OF THE EURO

Yes, given the current situation I believe that's exactly what would happen.

RE: FUTURE OF THE EURO

Have you ever owned a Fiat?

RE: FUTURE OF THE EURO

Yes, but the biggest parasites of all. Those that take 90% of the wealth out of the nations are not the blue collar street level loafers but the velvet collar banking elite of the Central Banks. They steal billions of dollars out of the savings of others every day legally and with total impunity just by deliberately inflating the currency.

RE: FUTURE OF THE EURO

Sorta like:
"Vote for Obama"

RE: FUTURE OF THE EURO

The only thread holding the dollar from plunging immediately into the bottomless pit is that it is still needed as a reserve currency by many nations. So they support it to some degree out of self interest. It's not that they have confidence in the dollar, but they don't have confidence in anything else either.

If the Euro were to somehow survive its present crisis and emerge as a strong currency, every nation on earth would start buying Euros and dumping dollars because the dollar is doomed and everybody knows it.

More likely however, given the seriousness of the Euro's situation, both the dollar and the Euro (and all fiat currencies for that matter) will crash soon.

That would be the perfect opportunity for the NWO folks to set up their global electronic currency unit and start chipping everybody.

RE: Should Canada and the U.S merge to become one conutry?

Kinda old news that.
The process has been underway for years.

First it was the North America Free Trade Agreement.

Then it was the Security and Prosperity Partnership for North America.

And eventually it will be the North American Union.

And like the Euro, they'll eventually issue a new currency, the Amero.

Just as occurred in Europe, they are pushing the unification process through, step by step, as a series of trade agreements. That way Congress doesn't have any part in the process at all.

This guy does a good job of explaining not only how the unification process is being pushed, but also how disinformation is used to manipulate peoples' opinions on the subject.

RE: usa

It was clear to me Rizlared.

RE: usa

Just wondering Carol, which do you think is the major problem?

Massive debt so overwhelming that the US can't even pay the interest without borrowing more, coupled with continued deficit spending at an unprecedented and completely unsustainable rate?
or
Lawmakers trying to reign in the spending?

Maybe you should ask your grandchildren to help you figure it out.

RE: usa

"bubble posts"???
"exclusive right of the house"????
"powers vested in the senate" ???

I haven't the slightest clue how your comments relate in any way whatsoever to anything I posted.

I'd be really interested in your explanation of what you're talking about.

As for me sending you to the WWW, you were already there/here.

RE: US is powered with Russian nuclear warheads

That's what the Libyans said about Gadaffi.
That's what the Iranians said about Mossadegh.
That's what the Chileans said about Allende.
That's what the Americans said about Kennedy.

But trust the CIA.
They know when a country needs a regime change.
Especially countries with energy or resources.
They are the experts in such matters.

RE: US is powered with Russian nuclear warheads

Uh, we can't find any more "willing".
How about a coalition of the coerced.

RE: US is powered with Russian nuclear warheads

Yeah, that brutal dictator Grímsson must be stopped.

RE: US is powered with Russian nuclear warheads

So I guess it balances out.

RE: US is powered with Russian nuclear warheads

Come to think of it, putting them together wasn't exactly cheap either.

RE: Bfore WW2...Which Country Was To Believe Had The Most Powerful Military Forces In Europe

I saw a documentary about the Foreign Legion here in France and I was surprised that they speak their own dialect. The "French" that they speak to each other within the Legion is so different from normative French that even the French people can't understand it.

Of course some of them also speak real French as well but that's not what they use among themselves. I can only imagine that it's done that way by design, to keep them "foreign".

RE: Bfore WW2...Which Country Was To Believe Had The Most Powerful Military Forces In Europe

There were initially a lot of different groups with different leadership and different political views and agendas.

The word "maquis" doesn't actually refer to an organization but rather to the rough terrain where they hid out.

Later, many of them did organize into a loose confederation that coordinated operations under DeGaulle's leadership (by coded messages from England).

As to how many there were altogether, I don't know. But it must have been in the thousands.

RE: Bfore WW2...Which Country Was To Believe Had The Most Powerful Military Forces In Europe

Climbing the ranks in the military is a very political process. Nobody makes it to the top levels without being a skilled politician.
Patton, McArthur, Montgomery, Eisenhower, DeGaulle, (etc etc) were always trying to grab the spotlight. It's the nature of the beast.

DeGaulle may have been a pain in the a-- for his allied counterparts but then again he had different imperatives. He wanted to free France from the Germans without falling under the domination of the allies.

And he managed to accomplish that.

He had a great influence on France. Not because he was any sort of military genius, but because he was resolute in pursuing the true interests of France, first against the Germans, and then against the English and Americans.

RE: usa

I found a great chart at BBC news, showing the debt progression.

Obama has doubled the national debt since he's been in office.
And it was already gargantuan before he got elected.

The problem with the US is not a few congressmen refusing to accept more debt. The problem is that the administration and all the other congressmen do accept it.

Remember that the bill for the debt will come to the taxpayers, not the politicians.

RE: This explains what's going on in America a "must listen"

That link doesn't work for me.

RE: President Obama Turns Against Americans

Raising the debt ceiling has nothing to do with not paying one's rent.

Raising the debt ceiling is not "paying" anything, it's borrowing.

The real deadbeat is the guy who NEVER pays his rent, he just borrows more money every month, spends it on himself, and sends the landlord an IOU.

And that's Obama.

RE: President Obama Turns Against Americans

Thread: President Obama Turns Against Americans

No he didn't turn against Americans. He has always been against Americans.

RE: usa

Yes, and the Treasury Investments are the same as T-notes. Nothing but IOUs - promises to tax the people in the future.

The real situation is like this.

RE: usa

Now of course China doesn't want to see all its wealth lose value so they are pushing for the US to continue to raise its debt ceiling. Even though that will cause inflation and devalue the currency, it won't be as much as a default. But China's interests are not those of the US. The bubble has to burst sometime and its best if it bursts as near to the ground as possible.

RE: usa

89

Now you're talking. Exactly what Russia did in 1989.
And at the time it was very hard for them, they had years of hard times and had to totally accept the collapse of their entire nation, but they were then able to make basic changes and start over and look at them now.

RE: usa

Uh, Saddam didn't have a Red Guard.

He had a Republican Guard until 1991 when the US massacred them all on the highway of death.

Then came 10 years of sanctions that killed a million people. By the time of the invasion about all he had left in the military were young kids and old men. No threat to anybody.

RE: usa

I don't see much evidence of the "rebuilding" you mention. Unless you mean building a fortress US embassy in Iraq. The rest of the country is in shambles. Slashed, bombed, burned, bashed, etc. And polluted with depleted uranium dust. And the same is true for Afghanistan, and Vietnam for that matter. No American rebuilding there. So just where is all this costly rebuilding occurring? Israel?

RE: usa

People who think that more debt (raising the debt ceiling) will somehow help the US economy remind me of the time Lucy drilled a hole in the bottom of a leaky boat to let the water drain out.

RE: usa

I dunno, I'm blond too. Or at least I was when I had hair.

Then again, there's a certain sort of blindness that comes from looking too much at the pixils and losing sight of the big picture Economics are not rocket science and the problems of the US are pretty simple to understand if you step back far enough.

the gold standard as established at Bretton Woods was simple, and it worked. But greed and corruption drove the US government to abandon gold and float the currency. And since then, the economy has been run by crooks using all sorts of devious ways to plunder wealth from the people and transfer it to the ruling elite. Wars, and weapons, and entitlement programs, and space programs, and the Fed, and Treasury notes, and all the other complexities involved in accomplishing that task are designed to hide and obscure understanding of the process, not clarify it.

Capitalism would be great. Too bad nobody's doing it.
