Jealousy

It's already been discussed in this thread that jealousy has an extremely wide range of types, also it was mentioned more that once before that there are varying degrees of jealousy.

Now I am starting to realize

that

different people even *see* jealousy differently. WOW.

For a majority of emotionally and mentally healthy people it is very unlikely to ever happen.

At least I truly don't see how.

Besides, if they do end up resenting you, it is their problem to deal with.

They can very well end up resenting you for being too boring, of too fat, or for having too small breasts(or too big if your are a man), or for having long hair, etc., anything really... That's how people end up on dating sites – too much resentment.

Yes, Kristin Swain did a good job describing a difference,

but

(a) the difference was not relevant to this thread to begin with;

(b) I prefer people expressing their own opinions
(or at least giving a credit to the author of *their opinion(s)*).

(c) I strongly dislike plagiarism. Using double quotation marks would be an honest thing to do.

Exactly! This response is involuntary and it's not an indication of weakness or a character flaw -

it's how a human being is wired.

Denial only magnifies this emotion to irrational proportions. An understanding that it's natural and normal helps people to deal with this emotion.

Dealing with what and who you are is the only way to minimize it. Denial is self-destructive.
