I get what some of it is about and it's been going on for years - her husband's family is full-on and in their faces all the time, they're very demanding and 90% of her free time is taken up with them
I've no problem with that (even though I couldn't stand it myself) but then when I politely mind my own business and get on with my life, I'm branded as being disinterested
LIfe with my grown offspring is still challenging, they are always your children and you love them dearly, while walking alongside them through their trials and tribulations
I think 'femininity' died out in the 50s ... think 'homemakers', waiting for their hardworking husbands to come home, making sure the children were bathed and bedded, a hot meal on the table and a face full of makeup as they met them at the door
Whilst probably itching to get on with their lives and fulfill their hopes and dreams .....
Yes I did group work prior to my present role and loved it too
And you're right, working with people one on one builds close relationships which makes me feel privileged. . although it can be tricky when it has to come to an end for one reason or another
