If we focus on the galaxy... Everything is believed made up from verbal diarrhea and I've also heard the mass of the galaxy estimated from counting the visible stars is not enough to keep it spinning so someone came up with the idea that there is extra mass in the galaxy in the form of dark matter which we can't see but has a 'weight' needed to provide the extra gravity. No one has ever detected dark matter but physicist have already came up with names for particles which it is made up of.... such as MACHOs (Massive Compact Halo Objects), WIMPs (Weakly Interacting Massive Particles), and other exotic stuff like Neutralinos etc. Weird science.......

The progressives are fighting back in different and new ways.
More recently, we've seen indoor and outdoor firing range operations challenged and shut down in my area for untrue safety citations as well as wrong and political reasons too.
Take away accessible places like this and things could get dangerous for untrained gun owners. Sad.
