Honestly don't see many going for this. There's always a small fear or being shot down when you ask someone on a date and (maybe this is just me), publically would be even worse.
Besides, and you may not believe this, I'm quite a private person and flirting is one thing but the actual asking is always done in private for me. Be it, in real life or online.
