soldier on the road
cold parchment letters from home
time gathers desire
implore Morpheus
regale me with restful dreams
sacrifice the day
symbols in circles
riddles of a nation state
fist on the lectern

First summer rain.
I open and then
I fold up my umbrella.
…………
First one, then another
Leaf trembles
On the apple tree
………
You smile.
Far away the bird takes off
From the slow ice floe

Through your eyes
I see the beauty of the sunrise
Through your mind
you teach me to be kind
Through your ears I take the time to listen to the music often not heard to dispel my fears
Through your voice I learn your truth that I may rejoice
Through your touch I am comforted
That I may stop leaning on a crutch
Through your soul I am lifted out of a hole
Through your hand I can take a stand
Through your heart I feel we will never part
Through your truth I am free from every lie I believed hence, no longer decieved
Through your life
in spite of all the strife
I try to learn your ways
even if everything I see seems all in a haze
Through your love I hear the call of the dove

Went to Goodwill
What a thrill!
I usually go out of there empty handed
Feeling like an L on my forehead was branded
But
In the CD section I was browsing hoping for the most
When along came Luther Vandross
A song he did with a woman with hits by the ton
Her name was Janet Jackson
Brother Michael did better with a style came off as sometimes mean
With hits like Ben, Rock With You, and Billie Jean
This song didn't chart very high on the Billboard Charts
But still it is dear to my heart
Let's Wait Awhile, Nasty, Escapade, When I Think Of You were great
This song somehow put me in a state
Of pure joy
How can I explain it
Oh boy
Like Janet says at the beginning of the song
Are you ready?

An angel from afar who shines
like a star
I ponder who you are
I see your beauty that shines
like the sun
Your wisdom is spoken with
your tears of joy and pain
they are but, my summer rain.
Though we may be oceans apart I feel your beating heart
To walk in shame or regret
tis' better we learn to let go
and forget
Yet, its your beauty I see and you can't take away that from me.
We can foolishly wear our heart on our sleeve only to find it is not our reality
Beloved in whom I'm well pleased, there is time to change your mind so she said
unto me
As you spend your life in turmoil and strife of seeking
an impossible dream
Look not what is unattainable
but, what is right in front of thee as you drift upon the eternal stream
Seek not what is fleeting that the winds blow in for a season
Everything comes to you for a reason inasmuch as its taken away for it no longer serves you today
Look upon true values within yourself and others, for what and who we hold as true
is a reflection of who we call sister or brother from our point of view
Though you may call me your angel from afar I am just a mere reflection of who you really are
For all who seek the truth of self and the universal law of love
Look high above when you see the dove
Know that I am with thee and by your side there is nothing you can hide
What we think we can keep hidden in the dark
The light eventually shines to offer its truthful spark
To hold your grievances against your sister and brother and whom you call friend is just a temporary idea that will eventually come to an end.
The day shall come when we wipe the tears and do away our fears to let the healing begin and know we are forgiven no matter the sin.
Look for the angel within everyone you meet and you will find yourself in relationships complete

Buyao weijing I enunciated
or something very similar
had the flavour right I'm sure
which was precisely the point
the waitress grinned
Shi de
Shi de
no MSG please
useful if food additives
turn your Chinese dining experience
into stomach churn
seems a shame
much Oriental food
is plagued by it
Buyao weijing
Buyao weijing
I'll keep practicing

Human beings are inherently Social creatures. we like gather
Group, and share in memories and experience, and we find a lot
Of unique ways.so times ways to do so. As times have changed,
Technology advances have exploded into view, and new forms of
Communication were created and we’ve gotten less social in many ways, isolated were created, though connected, digitally tethered but Adift.still, we gether for aot of same reasons, and as ways, insolated were created, and we get older, they all tend to be centered around food and drink, and entertainment ranging from bewfests to concerts, movies to plays, house parties to clubs.
While all of these are amazing ways to connect, to combine with other like-madied and inspired people, they aren’t the only options And sometimes, a subtle shift in how social needs with that leaves us completely breathless?what if we shared memories that were centered not on food and drink, but on drisovery, on awe? What if we opened our eyes just a bit wider and saw so much more together?

A last whiskey with Charles
who despite the body
in the motel pool
hadn't abandoned
a good cigarette
nor a calm gait
and a figurative tale
of the debt collectors demise
foreclosure being but a concept
to Charles
rational to the core
as the sirens
and red and blue flashes
highlighted his receding hairline
we sat back
and basked
in the glory
that consciousness
and rational expression
had conquered another day

Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we fall
Life's full of hurdles, and even brick walls
But we grow with experience, through the good and the bad
Look forward with wisdom, not back at what we could have had
When one door closes, it's time to move 'home'
New chapter in your book, whole world to roam
Our days run fast, in the blink of an eye
Make time last well, before we reach the sky
Live in every moment, take in all the air
Be grateful for now, run without a care
For one day we will be aged, looking back when we're grey
To give yourself good memories, you must live for each day

A little check mark next to my name
Or any slip of paper to bookmark
What I have set off like firecrackers
Such images to take center stage
When something strange becomes
Suddenly so curious so wondrous
To go back to day after day
What wild scenes will take place
Beckoning as would be for beauty
Beholding something more valuable
Does a simple shutter speed capture
Something that will last forevermore
An imagine ingrained in your brain
Now even with your eyes closed
In the sunbeams streaming rapture
A simple truth never shown more
Nor most interestingly composed
Then the pictures that will take shape
Like the great spotlight on the wall
And the star starts falling will glow
Only briefly after going along so far
Delight and dance in your heart
