For Mary Magdalene

Embedded image from another site

In the final hours
under pale gray sky
she stands below the cross
among all those who shared her cry.

He had taken from her
demons to and fro disdain
leaving larger stones of love
turning them into jewels to ease the pain.

Now on that sacred Friday
as the sun set in the West
Her Master is now asleep
and so divinely rests.

Heart in sorrow in sighing chest
Mary Magdalene trembling so did keep
with heavy crying eyes
time slow did slumber creep.

On that third day
Her Master rose to reap
reborn as an eagle leaving the nest
the Master is no longer asleep!

Go, Mary! spread your tender voice
shout in joy love and how
He has risen we all rejoice
you a beloved disciple then and now...

Mr Brown

This is a completely simple story
Mr Brown met online a women.
He wrote and called and spoke passionately
you are a clever a beautiful girl,
your ex-partner was probably blind
ophthalmologist would be useful to him.
She despite the experience of many
she lowered her vigilance by trusting him
he's a lawyer, he can't lie
he defends people, he defends the law.
And in addition looking her in the eye
he promised help in looking for a job.
And when he got what he planned
there was silence, what for words?
The sim card is easy to change after all
a woman on the net is easy to swap.
And this moral flowed out of it
don't trust Lawyer, never girl.

Hope

It comes quietly
with the advent of dawn.
It scares away bad thoughts
morning by touch.
Squats in the corner
with a slight smile,
to dance in a moment
with joy of breath.
Looks longingly
into open eyes
grading emotions
giving a will to live.
And laughs sincerely
from a planned plan.
Hope stubborn
hope unknown.

COMFORT ZONES.

What does one want from life
Mixed messages, stir up strife
Focus, with answers sincere
To see the way forward...clear

Knowing ourselves, usually helps
Did it happened before- how it felt
Learn from the past, showing the way
As life repeats, be prepared for that day

Self judgement, or council a trusted friend
We make our own decisions, how it may end
Accept, we can make or break the direction
travelled-ready, a mixed message reaction

Step out our comfort zone, that's called living
Stay safe and secluded, then life's not giving
We gain strength, from horizons stretched
Be brave in maturity, as in youth it was met...

Poetry

My audience,
Not for the most part educated,
In poetry,
Iambic pentameter,
Odes,
Sonnets,
Ballads,
These are all things,
From a past,
When books were the domain,
Of the educated elite.
Who would bother,
Nowadays,
To fathom metaphors,
And similes,
Or even symbolism.
It’s an ancient art,
A cultural activity,
Better left to the audiences,
Of the Globe.
They lived in the world of words,
And imagination.
There was no TV,
No films or Internet.
There was just the power of words,
And costume,
And the special effects,
Of a lightning bolt,
And darkness and light,
And music.
But people knew their poetry,
The actors knew their poetry,
It was a simple escape,
From the rats,
And the plague,
And the death,
That surrounded them.
The imagination lifts people,
It offers an escape.
It attracts people,
It creates Gods,
It gives us purpose,
It sets us free,
And some things,
Never change.

"Upon the Lily Pad"

She sat upon her lily pad

on gentle waters rippled

eyes so deep

cradling the moon and stars
and all that was within her

her fingers dipping gracefully
into the blue pool of serenity

her smile shone unto the heavens

her thoughts of what glories lay beyond the dancing stars
lifted her spirits so

she flew amongst the moonlight
within her soul she knew

this beautiful little angel
a gracious flight was due

Silence Molds Clouds All Day

Sublimely
silent shadows
running thru the fields,
Silence
molds clouds
all day

Radiantly
silent moonlight
bouncing thru the moss trees,
Silence
two steps
across the lake

Magically
silent snow flakes
falling like ghosts
Silence
swings low
thru the gate

Mysteriously
silent stones
gather no thoughts,
Silence
gives my
heart away

And
when my heart
is with you
Lord
its shield breaks
oh how it breaks
in the most
tender way.

History in Stone .........

I took a stroll down memory lane
So much history love and pain
Broken tombstones with no name
Some beautiful some plain

Many from long ago
Gone but not forgotten sorrow
Some alone others to borrow
Very aware of their tomorrow

Skilled craftsmen chiselled fate
From whence they came to relate
Their destiny and their date
Golden hands to create

I glance across what I see
An entire field of history
All marked with an identity
Worldly in its entirety ........

ONE FOOT INFRONT OF THE OTHER....

Our journey is continuous, throughout life
Broke into sections, mixing good and strife
Do we make progress, or in a circle move
Maybe in a rut, stuck in a deep groove

Putting one foot in front of the other, yet it feels
Life repeats is journey, as if intending to seal
Can we change our future, or accept our fate
Frustration doesn't help, giving up doesn't rate

So with a positive dream, we continue to hope
And every good time is sent, to help us cope
With times when we feel, we are slipping back
Attitude is important, can't buy a giant pack

If you have faith, you are halfway there
And if you have supporters, who truly care
No need to be lonely, don't journey alone
Putting down roots, not continuing to roam

Sharing, is something we can do
If you don't have that special one, maybe a few
Friends or family, will help you find your way
So enjoy each step you take, making the best of every day

Anticipation.

Quietly sat, in the moments of time
Silent-still, do we search for a sign
Passing quickly, minutes of a day
Waking our senses, stirring a way

To recall time and place, to memory
So revisiting, as on a special journey
Allowing one to enjoy again, emotions
Felt that morning without commotion

Almost surreal, when peace surrounds
The warming sun, heating the ground
Yet eerie the stillness, the day begins
Fresh- crisp, what will new day bring

Anticipation, dreams- hopes expand
Thoughts progress, as rock or sand
Or is it our choice, to guide special days
Blessed by dreams, from dawns first rays
