Last night I fell into a restless sleep,
soon after I’d been clearing out my fridge,
sorting what to throw away and what to keep.
I started dreaming I was walking o’er a bridge.
The path I trod soon led me to a street,
whose pavements were all packed and thronged with folk.
I was only wearing slippers on my feet.
The people stared and laughed as if that was a joke.
I saw a row of shops all in a line.
I ran toward them, tripping o’er my slippers.
And there, on a shop window, was a sign
which said, we will buy your date-expired kippers.
And as the grip of sleep began to soften,
I resolved to clear my fridge out much more often.

My lover's eyes are crossed, wave to and fro,
His nose, an ogre's ridge, much to the fore,
I send him out each day and hope he'll go
And not come back 'till this lifetime is o'er.
His skin is dire and pitted like a grid,
Wild hair all matted as a rabid dog,
Great forehead huge, yet pea-sized in the id
And voice that would offend a deafened frog.
To his ablutions he won't give a fig.
He reeks of cat's pee and of fouled roe, fried.
His fingernails would be just cause to dig,
Yes, on his stinking clothes fleas catch a ride!
Yet forged in his intent to spare the rod,
A caring heart, that plain, was wrought of God

Can't find a seahorse
ridin' Saturns Rings
And Pluto ain't the
place where the
bluejay sings
And if you're lookin'
for a Camel with a
hump on top..then
Venus ain'the place
you wanna stop
and shop
And there ain't no
bananas on Mars~
I've been searching
in vain for a
Juipter grape
And Mercury was to
hot for my Potato
bake
And Pluto..poor thing
not a Bug could be
found
And there ain't no
bananas on Mars~
Well, I shot accross
space to Neptune town
lookin for some water
but not a drop was
found
And Uranus so pretty
but where's the beef
Not a single green
pasture..not a falling
leaf
So Earth I imagine
is a special place
Spinning like a
jewel through
this endless
space
And more amazing
than this is You
and Me..created
to sail this
deep blue sea
So, let rockets
fly high through
the vast night
sky
Let them travel
as far as the
Stars
Cause search as
they will they'll
find no dafadil
And there ain't
no bananas on
Mars~

Aloneness is different from loneliness
It is an occasion for personal growth
It gives an insight into humanness
And helps us realize our self worth
Being with others continually
Denies us from ever having a chance
To look at ourselves objectively
To build up our own self reliance
Self reliance is the key to coping
With acute periods of adversity
It provides us with an inner strengthening
To overcome and claim the victory
Self reliance is extremely vital
To avoid the feeling of loneliness
Which can happen when there is denial
Of other's support and togetherness
If you feel contentment in aloneness
It can help you to avoid a pitfall
It provides an inner based happiness
Which is the greatest happiness of all

Tell the moon and tell the sun
There's life and love when we are one
Heaven is near Heaven is near
Showers of light and love will shine like the mourning dove
in kind
Heaven is near no more fear
Tell the mountains and the sea
it's all here for you and me
Heaven is near Heaven is near
Healing begins with love around
can't you hear the happy sound
Heaven is near Heaven is near
Come take my hand and dance with me sing a song so joyfully
Heaven is near Heaven is near
The father and the son are one
Our bother in the light for everyone
Heaven is near no more fear
Let the flowers dance so bright
take the mighty wings of flight
Heaven is near Heaven is near
Time and Space will hold our hand
As love will bind the eternal band
Heaven is near Heaven is near
Set me free to love again
Set you free to live again
Heaven is near Heaven is near
We have heaven

there's a golden sun
on a spinning wheel
there's a yellow fleck
in a pan full of steel
there's the fire I spat
and the breath I once drew
there's work that I'm doing
and the work that I do
there's a girl, half fish
singing songs about love
there's a man with no arms
with a drawer full of gloves
so what.. fair darlin'
have I figured so far?
"never play poker
with a blonde in a bar"
there's a rope and a saddle
there's a trail and a gun
but the trail ain't no different
when your pony ain't young
still the camp fire burns
in the chests of a few
and you sleep with your dream
and you wake up anew
so what fair darlin
don't I know I don't know?
"when fixing to stay
you should probably go"
it's the seas are rough
and the trail it is long
and your pony
has heard mostly
all of your song

Remember the tide how it rises and falls,
Let’s pray, pray to God that it never should stop,
It’s same as our life, in the eve, in the morn,
Its wheel keeps on moving, no time for a halt,
It’s same as the tide when it rises and falls.
You’re seeing a woman, you think she is yours,
Your heart’s full of loving, she's all that you want,
But sweet turns to sour, it seems you’ve been wrong,
You know, things just happen, so now she's gone,
It’s same as the tide as it rises and falls.
You’re lonely again, but you feel you can go,
You cling to old dreams that you cherished so long,
You cling to old work, to old friends, you just hope,
While months turn to years till you feel young no more,
It’s same as the tide as it rises and falls.

About this poem:
I’ve borrowed the title from Longfellow’s poem “The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls.”
As Macduff says: "Sometimes we just have to commit if we are to stay vaguely in control of things," in control of our life.

Have yourself a good day
May all your troubles be far away
May all your friends stop and say hello
May you find happiness wherever you go
See the gentle clouds passing by
They were made to be in a blue sky
Go for a walk in the warm sun
Yes you care about everyone
This is something good to pray
This could be everyday
Is amen what you want to say
Have yourself a good day

Special emotions, we hide
Stirring feelings, use as guide
Aroused by event, music or place
Accepting emotions, with grace
Times in life, we take control
Necessary, to remain whole
A little voice, speaks too
Reflections, see us through
To ourselves be true
Knowing, and seeing it through
Priority for us, a must
Accepting, with respect-trust
What for us, feels right
To look forward, into light
Not dragged down, by grey
Moving on, to a brighter day

The wind it blew with spite
As the bird tried to end it's flight
The landing was against all odds
As branches were whipped and flogged
I watched as the bird was swept up high
I could hear it's pitiful cries
Nature can be cruel too, I knew
I saw his struggle but straight down he flew
Flapping his wings in a flurry
Feathers flying, he was in a hurry
Watching the winds gusts calmed
My little friend landed with no harm
Sheltering under the great oaks strength
Safe, I sighed and moved off my bench
