birth of an angel (paloma)

becoming more precious with each passing day
it is so very simple for me to say
ever cherish your presence upon this earth
God blessed all the world, the day of your birth

I'm Aways Here Dear ! ( For Christina )

Should life e'er cause you stumble to a fall,
and you lie broken, tearful on the clay,
I then would pause my days to aid your call,
No lady owns my love, but you this day.
I'd gladly piece together one by one,
The shattered segments of your crystal heart,
Embrace you in my arms 'till hurt is gone,
Fond dreams of you, now tearing me apart.
Rise my beauteous princess, take my hand,
And you will feel my love is strong and true,
Important that you know and understand,
The heart within this chest, thumps but for you.
Should e'er you dab a teardrop o'er the miles,
I pray this ardent verse restores your smiles.

An Irish Blessing

May ye always find blue skies above your head,
Shamrocks beneath your feet;
Laughter and joy aplenty,
Kindness from all ye meet...

Good friends and kin to miss you~
If ye ever choose to roam;
And a path that's been cleared
By the angels themselves
To carry ye safely home.

Hand Out

Ups and downs of loving
we all do surely know
but friendships shared
have, too, a gentle
ebb and flow

When you are down,
above with spirits high
someone may well be seen
but also beneath can be found
a friend with their deep sigh

Spirits rise, spirits fall
as day to day we go
Just look around
we are always here
of this our lives do show

Shoulder-to-shoulder
footsteps help track time
sharing laughs and tears
some walk with us, both
under clouds and in sunshine.

In any direction is
a friend to reach, no doubt
Remember, then, when spirits flag
to give, grab life and hope
Just stretch your hand out.

A tribute to a remarkable friend, Jim aka, Cafe2010

Your wit and brilliance
Your sense of humor unhinged
You made us all laughed, cried
And even dance

Now you're gone
This place mourning in your absence
Could it be that there's a chance
You'll be back
Even just for a glance?

I know you knew we loved you
Adored and even venerated you
As a friend, brother, and perhaps
Even as a lover

Please remember you'll always be
In our hearts
You're not far away
Your writes, your lines
Will forever grace this place

We will always be near you.

We love you Cafe.

May you forever rest in peace.

Once again

Once again in the Poet's Corner
Pass the night in a discourse with friends.
If you were a part of poets' forum
You will never regret you have stayed.

I go slowly from poem to poem,
Looking first for the newest ones,
Then go back to familiar verses,
Those that once touched my soul so hard.

Poet's corner is always in motion,
Its contributors take turns in race,
When one part of the world is sleeping,
Then another one picks up the pace.

Poet's Corner is people's refuge,
You're invited - don't need any pass.
Here you meet with old friends, smiling faces,
Here's encouragement, sympathy, love.

You can pass the whole night making comments,
Reading poems, enjoying the rhymes,
Thinking, what is the point poet's making,
Hoping some time you'll write as he does.

Sympathetic and witty comments,
Make you think of the poem twice,
And discussion that's launched over poem
Makes you stay and endure to the last.

Oh, I've learned very much from Poet's Corner,
Never thought would entice me so much.
In my greetings to you, dear poets,
I would wish you success and great love!

FRIENDS

The term 'Friend' recklessly used no doubt
call one 'friend' you know NOTHING about
True Blue Friends extremely rare if not extinct
agree or don't just wanna make you think

Not shocked that most possess gullible mentality
believing you have many friends isn't reality
Acquaintances or buddies much more reasonable
perpetual jealousy makes true friends less feasible

A morally defunct world negates trusting completely
BEST FRIENDS deceive you more discreetly
many so-called 'friends' are cunningly malicious
don't be blind there's reason to be suspicious

Two-Faced 'friends' are part of your everyday
that's a sad fact I can definitively convey
Vast experience validates my every word
truly clueless if you dismiss this as absurd

Witnessing "friends" stab "friends" sickens me
'friend' requires absolute 'trust' that can't be
When told "My Best Friend" did me wrong
I grin knowing it would happen all along

" Hand in Hand"

I know some ladies adore men with big hands,
It's a worry that I have beared,
For mine are the Artistic, Creative type,
To which, this defense I've prepared.

Men with big hands can be awkward and rough,
And would tour a woman's body at will,
Where my soft hands would show you respect,
And only with permisson, would thrill.

Strong hands on the wrong man, a dangerous thing,
As they can easily fold to fists,
And physically bruise a pretty face,
To a Love story with a bloody twist.

The fear I have is that you won't like,
My hands when the time is nigh,
For your dainty hands might turn away,
And wave my hands Goodbye !

If I saw my reflection in the beginnings of a tear,
That welled in the corner of your eye,
My kind hands would wipe it away,
as they couldn't bear to see you cry.

If my hands were in a room full of hands,
You would know them immediately it's true,
The left one waving to catch your blue eyes,
The right one extended to you.

So take it my Dear, and together we'll stroll,
In Wordsworths hills and dales,
Along by the lakes and the meadows,
On the endless winding trails.

To walk in the footsteps of our Hero,
Now that really sounds quite grand,
But to wander there would only be complete,
If we could do so......Hand in Hand. !

About this poem:
This is my last poem on The Corner,my heart or my head is not right for poetry at present. It has been Awesome, I heart fully thank you all !
A poem is such a potent thing.....
Yet misunderstood it can be a powerfully negative force.
I had this one already written........a poem not shared is selfish !
I bow out with a tear..........Mick. xxx .

Captain Morgan Tears

Captain Morgan tears. She's cried them for thirty one years. I've listened that long. Yet she, the very next day reappears alert, aware and strong. Without a mention of worry or care.

Everything goes as normal. Until time for rum and coke. And to have a little weed to smoke. Soon the fun turns into anger that she's held in. Then, once again rain down the Captain Morgan tears. She begins to share all the emotional pain that now are making her a little insane.

I've advised her to tell Captain Morgan goodbye. Let him be the one to cry. I seriously worry. She tells me yet another lie. Will not admit she has a problem. When it's so apparent to me. More than anything I want to see her truly happy.

My heart goes out to her time and time again. I have always tried to be her best friend. She needs to put this pain to an end. For her I have fears. When she does, there will be no more Captain Morgan tears.

For a very good friend named Nam

Hear yeah hear yeah that yeah may know
There is a clumsy clown hiding behind you
Turn around and check your back
For he is there, looming behind the dark

But oh wait, here is our saviour
The ever robust Nam, who's always full of valor
If you see him in his shining armour
Please let him pass with golden splendor...

For now the clown will no more cry
Instead he will give us laughter and smile...

Of course you do, my dear soldier
Go on ahead and take your steer
Fatten it up so it'll stay strong
For this you need and your armor

Then when the time comes and its all done
We will all sing in praises and even dance
Thankful with your might and strength
So that goodness will always reign.

Of course you think it might be so
That I am wrong and can be true
But the truth will say it all
For you my dear soldier is so tall.

Go on and take all that which moves you
For in this cruel world there are so few
That will fight for what is right and true
And you soldier there aren't enough of you

Have you seen all the tears and wails?
That can fill the oceans and the lakes?
Tell me have you no heart to stay on here
So truth and justice will prevail?
