Liar

Winds howling whipping tearing their way thru

Currents strengthening swelling with their pride

You yes you begging from release from lies

Damn them they will not have a place to hide

Moonlight shining on darkened battlefield

Yellow glow caressing imperfect man

Looking up appearing at the angel

Justice had been served not as he had planned

Looking in the mirror what does one see

Is it true you or has it been revised

To see ones self with blemishes and all

Is freedom from having to fight the lies

To ones self it is so easy to lie

In the end truth is with us when we die

Love Sonnet XI

Pablo Neruda
Love Sonnet XI

I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair.
Silent and starving, I prowl through the streets.
Bread does not nourish me, dawn disrupts me, all day
I hunt for the liquid measure of your steps.

I hunger for your sleek laugh,
your hands the color of a savage harvest,
hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails,
I want to eat your skin like a whole almond.

I want to eat the sunbeam flaring in your lovely body,
the sovereign nose of your arrogant face,
I want to eat the fleeting shade of your lashes,

and I pace around hungry, sniffing the twilight,
hunting for you, for your hot heart,
like a puma in the barrens of Quitratue.

Close Encounters

Seldom do my thoughts roam so running wild
With such passion that lights my heart on fire
When you strolled by me your sweet smile beguiled
Nothing could stop the heat of my desire

Help me if you believe I cannot hide
There's no chance to escape your lovely eyes
Exists any place for more truth to confide
Without running away with deceit and lies

Life becomes like a universe divides
Step away from its center a distance
What will cause us an event to collide
Is plotting a course of least resistance

So next time you think we don't stand a chance
Remember what turns love into romance

About this poem:
Abstract about how two items in the universe attract and collide despite all the forces that propels them away from each other...kind of like love and physics....maybe....perhaps??? :)

Love's Incalescent Fool

Watch and wait things will always get hotter
Sooner or later love will turn around
What grass really grows greener and wetter
Grass over the fence or all over town

What can be argued in and of itself
Stop, think about what you already know
To even change one thing about myself
Is when your love is only 'just for show'

Searching halfway across the universe
Hoping to find what was already found
How can anyone of us just converse
When speaking faster than the speed of sound

When all you can say is all you just heard
Better believe you are being absurd

Elysium Fields

In Elysium Fields by dawn of day,
I saw The vision of Love’s own sweet dream.
Beside your beauty a fawn it did play,
As rainbow light about you both did stream.

The light did glisten from your soft brown eyes,
Love-light did shine forth from your bright orbs there.
This was Elysium, my paradise,
In which with you life i would Love to share.

In sun’s embrace i do see my treasure,
With you by my side this world would be mine.
You are my sweet desire, my golden measure,
Of human sunlight that shall always shine.

Our Love shall be always what power it yields,
Together within Elysium Fields.

The Seer

Closing my eyes tightly yet still seeing
Time and time again I closed them tightly
Some things just never change always the same
The gift of seeing beyond ones eye sight

Usually unable to change the vision
Humans have a way of fighting the truth
Not wanting to believe what they can't see
Their always wanting the tangible proof

The pain is so great I can barely look
My heart already grieving for the loss
If I say would you believe me and change
If not would you turn and love be the cost

Wishing to tell you yet turning away
Hoping this time I will be wrong I pray

Sonnet #21

Posted:
XXI.

So is it not with me as with that Muse
Stirr'd by a painted beauty to his verse,
Who heaven itself for ornament doth use
And every fair with his fair doth rehearse
Making a couplement of proud compare,
With sun and moon, with earth and sea's rich gems,
With April's first-born flowers, and all things rare
That heaven's air in this huge rondure hems.
O' let me, true in love, but truly write,
And then believe me, my love is as fair
As any mother's child, though not so bright
As those gold candles fix'd in heaven's air:
Let them say more than like of hearsay well;
I will not praise that purpose not to sell.

About this poem:
Modern Interpretation..

I’m not like that other poet who writes about a woman who’s pretty because she wears a lot of makeup. In his verses, he compares her to heaven itself, and to every other beautiful thing—the sun and moon, the rich gems of earth and sea, the first flowers of April, and all the rest of the precious things on the face of the earth. Since I really am in love, I just want to write the truth, and when I do, believe me—my lover is as beautiful as any human being, though maybe not as bright as the stars. Whoever actually likes those love-poem clichés can say more; I’m not trying to sell anything, so I won’t waste time with praise

~~~Love's Abyss~~~(Sonnet)
Run to my open arms, they'll gently squeeze,
And we will gaze into the rippling pond,
The fragrance of your rose is on the breeze,
Reflected in the pool, two hearts so fond.
This kiss we share today a precious thing,
The bows of our Love tree bend down with fruit,
Two lofty turtle doves are on the wing,
White knuckled hands conjoined without refute.
We wander o'er the bridge to leafy lane,
Our Love we did express in Nature's palm,
Deep feelings poured that we could not contain,
In mutual release we found our balm.
Sated now, we lie in joyous bliss,
While falling deeper still in Love's abyss.
HIDDEN TREASURE
WE CAN SEARCH FOR TREASURE,
STORM THE GREAT WALLS OF THE KEEP,
OR HUNT ALONG THE HILLSIDE
WHERE GOLD IS BURIED DEEP.
WE CAN QUEST ENDLESSLY FOR
SOME GREAT HIDDEN TROVE
AND HUNT FOR SPARKLING GEMS
WHEREVER WE MAY ROVE.
OVER LAND OR SEA
OR WAY UP IN THE AIR,
WE CAN SEARCH FOR RICHES
EVERYWHERE.
YET WERE ALWAYS SURE
TO LEARN IN THE END,
THAT NO TREASURE COMPARES
TO THAT OF A FRIEND;
FOR A HEART THAT IS WARM,
AND CARING AND KIND
IS THE GREATEST TREASURE
THAT WE'LL EVER FIND.
A Gem (sonnet)
A gem's a stone that's rare, but cold inside; -
A true gem's in the heart the other hides.
When we find that rare one who understands,
Then we are privy to those exotic lands.
No one can define this thing called "love"
That strangest feeling, sent from up above.
A diamond's cold with all its many facets;-
More beauteous a woman in her assets.
No one knows the time we have on Earth -
Be kind to the other one - they also hurt.
Look beyond the ring;- find that precious sparkle -
Find true wealth; - before we meet death's darkness.
Then fear not "Father Time"; - he can't take it all away; -
For we are in each other's arms for an eternity.
