Real or Illusion

She came to me shy and sweet
Much like my dream's illusion
Virtual or is my dream complete
What is my realistic conclusion

Soft fine and long red wavy hair
Delicate ears and my caring fingers
Lips that are passionate and rare
The caressing arms that often linger

She has filled a void that was dark
Made me whole when life was bleak
She ignited a fire that was a spark
And made me feel special and unique

I think it's real for I know I can feel it
Certainly this is what life is meant to be
I know it's real for I can now see it
It's life, it's exhilaration, it's you and me!

september 1916

july
i wondered lonely as a raindrop
the wind on my back
the tears rolling down my face
as i watch her disappear into the twilight

September arose:
my heart still shattered
my love still lost
never did i know how much her heart cost
my soul forever gone

a yuletide delight:
sweet december graced my red nose
as i pulled the sleigh of life
i found my glorious rose
returned to me under the tree.....
balls naked wrapped in tinsil

Systemic

A talk on “Sonnets”, once did attend
fascinated by the sound was I
of words that move to tears or grin
skill lacking, my pen has yet to try

Not academic-taught are my poems
no poetic training have I had
but my pen writes its messages
whether mediocre, good or bad

My writing is free-verse systemic
from feelings, deep, deep within
that rise up into words polemic
words, worlds ready to begin again

Once lost somewhere in my heart
this rhyming verse I now impart.

Love

The twinkle in your eye
The smile upon your lips
The way you look at me
Or the way your touch feels

Why do I know its love
How does this feeling ring true
Without saying a word you told me
But do you feel the same way too

I guess all i can say is I love you
And pray that your heart is in tune
This is a scary place for me to be
But thats what make it rewarding to me

on line today

online today,
flying to one other heart,
online today,
belonging to someone else,
online today,
I'm so forgotten,
in so many faces..
and desire of you..
I have my words,
my only world,
over distance,
and difference,
that's my virtual power,
to tell..
I love you..

the usual places

I hear your voice in
this side of my mind
that place you've been
with thoughts entwined

my eyes close slowly
to gaze at your face
your smile seen wholly
a warm state of grace

as imaginary arms I wrap
you tightly in time missed
the space that fills the gap
your lips are lightly kissed

you're at the usual places
that my mind's eye embraces

Doug

There once was a man named Doug.
Who bought a purple mug.
He had a biscuit, or three,
a cup of tea.
Then fell asleep on the rug.

A sonnet ordered me Violante

A sonnet ordered me Violante,
in my life I have been in such a predicament;
fourteen lines say it's sonnet
mocking derision go three ahead.

I thought it could not find consonant
and I'm in the middle of another quartet,
but if I look in the first triplet,
there is nothing in the quartets that I afraid.

For the first triplet am getting,
and it seems I went on right
the end with this verse I will give.

I'm in the second and even suspect
I'm running the thirteen verses:
fourteen reckon and it's done.

mays love

you love all you say,
round ,beneath,above me,
find me then some way,
better than to love me.
me ,too ,dearest may.
o world-kissing eyes,
which the blue heavens,melt too,
i, sad other wise,
loathe ,the sweet looks dealts to,
all things-men and flies.
you love all,you say,
their for dear,abate me,
just your love,i pray,
shut your eyes and hate me,
only me-fair may

You’ve gotta love him

My lover's eyes are crossed, wave to and fro,
His nose, an ogre's ridge, much to the fore,
I send him out each day and hope he'll go
And not come back 'till this lifetime is o'er.
His skin is dire and pitted like a grid,
Wild hair all matted as a rabid dog,
Great forehead huge, yet pea-sized in the id
And voice that would offend a deafened frog.
To his ablutions he won't give a fig.
He reeks of cat's pee and of fouled roe, fried.
His fingernails would be just cause to dig,
Yes, on his stinking clothes fleas catch a ride!
Yet forged in his intent to spare the rod,
A caring heart, that plain, was wrought of God
