Well, the fishermen there were all saying that these sea otters eat an awful lot of the shellfish that they could/should be catching, but they also all seem to realise that there has to be a balance. The sea otters were virtually wiped out there earlier this century due to vain women wanting to wear their fur, but then a ban was put on killing them, and the population has gradually increased, but not to any great extent. I think that's why the shellfish fishermen seem to respect them...they realise the delicate balance between survival and extinction of these wonderful, endearing creatures.
Thanks for your comments. Seems like everyone keeps gravitating back to CS!! I think, for me, it's because it has so many features, but also it is a lot more orientated towards making friends. I have made friends from all over the world on this site, and a year on, am still talking to them, which is really nice. I think the more serious type of dating sites just puts the pressure on too much....Afterall, if Mr Right was to appear out of cyber space, he would have to be a friend first!
Hi Darren Wow! There are sooooo many sites aren't there! I have never heard of any of those ones.
There are two annoying things that I have found...one is that you HAVE to join sites just to have a look around, and once you have joined, you then try and delete your details, they often don't get deleted! I still get e-mails from sites that I deleted myself from months ago!
Hi S thanks for your comment. I agree with you. The forums are a good place to have a chat and a laugh without any pressure. This site does have it's limitations, but compared with every other free site, it is amazing!
This is a clip from the nature documentary I watched the other evening, about a mother sea otter who decided to give birth to her baby on a jetty in busy marina of Monteray Bay, California.
I occasionally read these types of so-called "advice" but they always turn out to be just plain common sense! Always find them a bit patronising really!!
I think it's just a case of being yourself on a date, and being considerate to the other person ie. letting him or her get a word in edgeways!!
Would anyone be interested in a Wildlife/Nature thread?
