Biden on gas prices - Basically 'Let them eat cake'

Biden praises high gas prices as part of ‘incredible transition’.

Out of touch as ever, President Biden celebrated record-high gas prices Monday, gushing that the pump pain was part of “an incredible transition” of the US economy away from fossil fuels.

“ it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” Biden said during a press conference in Japan following his meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

The president then insisted that his administration’s actions, rather than increasing the price of gas, had actually been able to “keep it from getting worse — and it’s bad.”

Only then did Biden pay lip service to millions of Americans who have found themselves spending thousands of extra dollars to fuel up their vehicles.

“The price of gas at the pump is something that I told you — you heard me say before — it would be a matter of great discussion at my kitchen table when I was a kid growing up,” Biden said before admitting, “It’s affecting a lot of families.”

As Biden spoke, the average cost of a gallon of gas nationwide sat at $4.596 per gallon. Several states are seeing an average cost of more than $5, while California’s average cost sits just above $6, according to AAA.

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, the US and several of its Western allies cut off all imports of Russian oil and gas — which has contributed to soaring gas prices for Americans.

In an effort to counter that, Biden announced the release of 180 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which his administration claimed would cause prices at the pump to “come down fairly significantly.”

At the time, the average price of gas was $4.225 per gallon.

“It’s helped, but it’s not been enough,” Biden claimed Monday.

Elsewhere in the presser, the president admitted the US economy has “problems,” warning that it will be “a haul” and “take some time” to recover.

Republicans blasted the president on social media, with many accusing Biden of celebrating the higher gas prices as Democrats continue to push a radical environmental agenda.

“Democrats are celebrating the higher gas prices Americans are paying,” the National Republican Congressional Committee tweeted.

“Biden refers to the skyrocketing gas prices as an ‘incredible transition.’ They’re saying the quiet part out loud now,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) wrote. “They’re causing you pain at the pump because it’s all part of their radical agenda.”

GA judge orders ‘strangely pristine’ mail-in ballots, that look photocopied, to be guarded

Georgia is questioning the validity of a large number of mail-in ballots from last November that allegedly appear to be identical Xeroxed copies that are uncreased, and use identical paper and ink.

Fulton County poll manager Suzi Voyles has never seen anything like it during her 20 years of monitoring elections in Fulton County. “All of them were strangely pristine,” she noted. She noticed the discrepancy as she sorted through a large stack of mail-in ballots last November. As she went through the ballots she saw that a number of the ones cast for Joe Biden were strangely similar to each other right down to the ink and paper.

The votes were identical in nature with perfectly filled ovals. Each of the bubbles featured an identical white void inside them that was shaped like a tiny crescent. The darkened ovals appear to have been copied rather than filled in with a pen or pencil according to RealClearInvestigations.

Voyles also noted that the ballots in question were printed on different paper than the others she had counted. None of them were folded or creased either which is the norm for mail-in ballots since they arrive in envelopes.

The stack of ballots was labeled “State Farm Arena.” There were 110 ballots in that particular stack and all but three of them were marked for Biden. They appeared to be “identical ballots.”

Voyles came forward and voiced her concerns over the anomaly. For her diligence, she was fired as a poll manager by the Fulton County Department of Elections. “I got the boot for speaking the truth,” she said.

She was not alone in noticing the oddity of the ballots. At least three other poll workers all witnessed the same identical ballots.

WSJ Editors Eviscerate Hillary, Lapdog Media in Blistering Op-Ed About Russia Collusion Lies

It’s time to drop the words “fake news,” “hoax,” and any other descriptor short of blatant and purposeful lies, in reference to Hillary Clinton’s engineering, oversight, and final approval of releasing to the sock-puppet media a preposterous fairy tale that even the worst of armchair sleuths could spot as complete bullcrap.

Why do I make such a “bold” statement? When even the Wall Street Journal editorial board publishes a blistering editorial titled Hillary Clinton Did It, in which it calls Clinton’s lies a “dirty trick for the ages,” that is newsworthy. Are you listening, Hillary?

The Russia-Trump collusion narrative of 2016 and beyond was a dirty trick for the ages, and now we know it came from the top—candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. That was the testimony Friday by 2016 Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook in federal court, and while this news is hardly a surprise, it’s still bracing to find her fingerprints on the political weapon.

Mr. Mook testified as a witness in special counsel John Durham’s trial of Michael Sussmann, the lawyer accused of lying to the FBI. In September 2016, Mr. Sussmann took claims of a secret Trump connection to Russia’s Alfa Bank to the FBI and said he wasn’t acting on behalf of any client. Prosecutors say he was working for the Clinton campaign.

Before we continue, lemme say this. I abhor whataboutism — from both sides of the aisle and everywhere in between. That said, we’re talking about the same lapdog media who, when shown images, transcripts, receipts with signatures, and testimony from former associates of Joe Biden’s wayward son, immediately dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop scandal as “Russian disinformation.” Yet, Hillary’s lies?

Hillary Clinton has always had a sort of Voldemort-like status of she who must not be named in a scandal. The Clintons have really been able to avoid direct responsibility in a series of scandals. And here was her campaign manager [Robby Mook] effectively dropping the dime on his former boss and saying, “Look, she approved it. She knew about it.”

Now, the reason that’s important is that this claim was utterly ridiculous. It didn’t have a basis. It was quickly rejected by people in the government, and it was without any foundation when people looked at it. But the Clinton campaign pushed it anyway. This Alfa Bank story was pushed by Jake Sullivan, now the national security adviser, and by Clinton herself.

But the thing to keep in mind is that President Obama was briefed when he was president, that Hillary Clinton was planning to make a Russian collusion claim against Donald Trump to try to sort of get out of her own email issues during the campaign.

Biden isn’t fooling anyone — inflation is his fault and he has no solution to fix it

If you like your inflation, you can keep your inflation.

Okay, Joe Biden didn’t say that. But he would have if he were being honest.

The president set himself an easy task Tuesday — to show a dispirited public he cares about their painful straits. As he put it, “I want every American to know that I’m taking inflation very seriously and it’s my top domestic priority.”

Just not seriously enough to bring a single new idea to the table. Instead he fell back on tired tropes about how none of the historic increase in prices is his fault.

With Biden, the buck always stops somewhere else.

The two straw men he trotted out were familiar — the pandemic and the Putin Price Hike. The latter coined phrase is as ridiculous as President Gerald Ford’s WIN gambit, for Whip Inflation Now, and will no doubt be just as effective economically and politically.

Asked by a reporter after his address whether he accepted any responsibility for the crisis, Biden said no, adding: “I think our policies help, not hurt.”

Saying so doesn’t make it true.

Nor was it credible for him to claim, again, that there is rampant price gouging by oil and lumber companies and beef distributors.

As usual, his performance was marred by a halting, stumbling delivery as if he were reading his speech for the first time. An even bigger problem is that his argument is no match for the reality Americans see and feel.

Consider these numbers: CNN reports 81% of the public thinks the government is not doing enough to combat inflation.

Fox reports that just 36% approve of Biden’s handling of the economy.

And all that was before the latest record hike in gasoline prices. The national average price of regular unleaded is now $4.37 a gallon, up from $4.20 last week and $2.97 a year ago.

Against that backdrop, the White House had to know there was no chance the president’s “I care” appearance would make much of a difference, raising the question of why he bothered. One theory is that the inflation data that comes out Wednesday will be more bad news and Biden’s team saw an advantage in getting ahead of it by having him tell voters he really, really feels their pain.

That’s not much of a reason, but the decision to go ahead shows how the administration has hit a wall of its own making. Even with the tanking stock market and growing belief that the Federal Reserve’s planned interest rate hikes will throw the economy into a recession, Biden seems unable to change course and adopt policies that could help tame inflation and earn him and his party a second look from voters.

For example, despite the fact that many economists believe the massive government spending during the height of the COVID war, including $2 trillion spent last year, was a major cause of the surge in consumer demand and prices, Biden continues to push for more spending that would add to inflation pressures.

Then there’s the issue of energy supplies and the resulting price of oil being stuck around $100 a barrel. If the president were to flip-flop and make a serious push to increase production, he would face a revolt within his own party.

Many Democrats actually wouldn’t mind if gas prices hit $10 a gallon because, they believe, that would hasten the move away from fossil fuels. Such is their devotion to the devil in their Green New Deal that the problems people face here and now don’t matter to them.

Woman will give birth to the same son a second time

She really delivers.

After giving birth to her son Levi James last Wednesday, Jaiden Ashlea is due to give birth to him a second time in July.

It’s all part of an elaborate plan to save the baby’s life.

When the 23-year-old mom-to-be had a prenatal anatomy scan at 18 weeks of pregnancy in March, it showed that her son had spina bifida, a congenital defect that adversely affects a fetus’ spinal cord during gestation and can lead to learning and developmental disabilities and paralysis. (Each year, roughly 1,427 babies are born with spina bifida, according to the CDC.)

“I was in shock. I couldn’t even speak when the doctor was telling us this,” recalled Ashlea, who works in digital content creation and real estate.

Initially, doctors in her hometown of Jacksonville, Fla., told her and fiancé Noah Detrick, 23, that their first child would be born “brain dead” and would have no chance at leading a quality life.

“I remember saying to myself, ‘This isn’t real, this isn’t happening,” Ashlea said, adding that the physicians encouraged her to terminate the pregnancy. “It was a nightmare.”

But after getting second and third opinions from specialists in Orlando, which is just over two hours away from her home, Ashlea learned that there was hope for her son. She could potentially undergo a cutting-edge surgery to repair his spine while he was still gestating.

She underwent a barrage of medical tests — only a few hundred expecting mothers and their babies are deemed well enough to withstand the invasive treatment each year — before being approved for surgery at Orlando’s Winnie Palmer Hospital. Ashlea was the 31st mother ever to have the surgery at the hospital, one of just 12 medical facilities in the country that perform fetal surgeries. Such procedures typically cost upwards of $25,000, and Ashlea’s was covered by insurance.

Roughly six weeks after the troubling diagnosis, Ashlea went under the knife. Doctors made a cesarean incision along her stomach, broke her water and successfully repaired the sizable lesion, or abnormality, plaguing the L2 vertebrae in the baby’s lower back. Then, they repositioned the tot inside Ashlea’s tummy, sewed her up and put her on strict bed rest until the baby will be developed enough for an actual C-section delivery at 37 weeks. The procedure involved full anesthesia and took roughly six hours. Ashlea is now about 27 weeks along and has noticed her baby’s health has improved.

“Since the surgery, [doctors have] seen so much more movement and signs of any malformation in his brain are reversing,” she said, adding that physicians now expect her son to have almost no issues walking.

He will, however, likely need to undergo physical therapy from birth until he’s at least 18 years old. But his post-op progress is promising nonetheless.

“He’s kicking his legs, and twisting his ankles in there,” the mom-to-be gushed. “I can feel him moving.”

Elon Musk Says He Will Reinstate Trump’s Twitter Account

On Tuesday at the Financial Times Future of the Car conference, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and future owner of Twitter, said that he will reinstate former President Donald Trump if his $44 billion deal to purchase Twitter goes through.

Musk stated that the ban was “morally wrong and flat-out stupid” since he believes that the banning of Trump led to the amplification, rather than the silencing, of the former president’s views:

“I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake … It alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.”

Additionally, Musk added that Trump’s behavior may have warranted “a temporary suspension…but not a permanent ban.”

Trump was permanently suspended from Twitter after January 6th with Twitter justifying its suspension in a statement saying that keeping Trump on Twitter could lead to “the risk of further incitement of violence”

Trump has said that he does not plan to return to Twitter and instead he has begun to utilize his own platform, Truth Social, to post his thoughts on everyday politics.

However, Trump’s actions, such as his lawsuit to try to reinstate his social media, demonstrate that the former president would like to send his daily tweets again.

Musk has emphasized that he sees Twitter as the modern public square and that the protection of free speech leads to a healthy democracy with him tweeting before the $44 billion deal went public that “Free speech is essential to a functioning democracy.”

Whether Trump decides to return to Twitter or not, Musk’s move to reinstate the 45th President’s account demonstrates Musk’s commitment to being a free speech absolutist, and Twitter may once again serve as an outlet for President Trump to reach his supporters.
