The Christmas walk

I got an email from my walking group today. The proposed Boxing Day walk has been changed to another route because of all the rain we've had lately. The planned walk is too muddy, apparently. I was intending to go on that walk, but I probably won't bother now. Now that the possibility of someone slipping into the canal has been removed, there doesn't seem much point. sigh

Unless the new proposed walk is mountainous, in which case the entertainment value could go up considerably.

I've seen that far too often to still find it funny, jac. drinking
I've not seen it myself.

Thankfully, nobody has ever captured my downfall on video.
Sounds like fun and good socializing.
Well I will most likely be doing about a 2 hour walk early on Christmas morning with the dog and the current plan will give her some paddling in the local river and as she will still be on an extending lead I hope she doesn't pull me in but she hasn't done it yet.
Well they seem to enjoy each other's company, LaFonda.
Make sure you dress up warm for your walk, Inthecountryside, that frost can nip. wink

Good, HE, that you restrict the walks to flat lands. Keep them well under 500 meters, old man. If not, be sure a member has resuscitation training, and that you carry a working cell phone, and cardio-version portable unit. One that stores hundreds of joules.
We used to spend some time in winter in the sunshine state. Loved it. Yep, some gators grow pretty big and mean. Some have taken lots of animals, including the smaller two legged sorts. But there's a video, I think on You Tube, of a domestic cat facing a big one down. Someone might have played it here, and when I figure THAT out, I may do so myself. Typical life on a bayou setting, and the gator decides to cautiously saunter up toward the house, from the shore. Cat comes right down to it, and gradually, in a series of daring back and forth moves, gets the gator to back down into the drink. Can't make this stuff up.
Or sandwiches.
