BE YOURSELF!Can't stress it enough, its much better when people like who for who you really are than for people to like you for what you pretend to be. If your freaky, be freaky, if your a straight arrow, be a straight arrow.
Don't try to put yourself off as something your not just to appease others, its fake and ultimately will leave you more miserable than before. Be the freak you really are, the right people will like you and that is what you need.

Just kidding.
If one is not comfortable being oneself, they will never be comfortable.
It won't work long-term as at some point, differences starts to show.
I also think 2 people have to be happy in a relationship, that includes myself. I don't like any type of BS and won't start with it myself.
I don't like everyone and I don't expect everyone to like me. I have no problems getting on with good people but can give others a berth without any problems.
Let people see exactly who you are and make them accept or reject you.

Most times it is the fake and insecure, that try to make others miserable...It usually does not take long to spot them....we just have to do our best to ignore them...and as you say, just be ourselves..
But that greatest lesson is exactly that.
