I've never had any desire to talk about religion or politics
And now it seems that so many in these forums, blogs, and the world in general want to shove their point of view in your face without tolerance or respect for others. It's precisely why I despise discussing those two subjects.Am I an anachronism? Is it still possible to banter and have fun without politics and religion entering the discussion?

I miss the times in forums when socially inept people would wonder why they couldn't get a date... sigh
In which case, the lockdown has increased our social standing (at a two meter distance).
Every cloud and all that.
I do hate the incessant bad news syndrome here though. Bad News sells papers and keeps people watching T.V. and keeps people in control.
I deliberately watch light hearted uplifting programmes informative and also comedy programmes. We do need to get more lighthearted.
Less hate, more acceptance of colour, creed, level of education and less intellectual snobbery and just let people write in their own way the way it used to be .
I'm with you on this one. Time and a place for certain subjects .
Maybe you could liven up this place a bit, hey?
I've tried...and I've tried but...
@AI~~~ I tried to liven up the forums when I first got here, but that didn't work out very well. Maybe I'll try again. You going to help?
And Amicable, What About Love?
Did someone say pizza? You're not one of those people that like pineapple on your pizza, are you?
Eh? Do I like them? Sure. Do I participate? As much as my 61 year old body tolerates. Mostly golf and exercise these days.
I rarely go to live events any more. I never was big on crowded stadiums, ticket prices, parking, hassles getting home, etc. Seems like the world is catching up to me nowadays. I'm rarely ever glued to a TV during a sporting event. I'll typically have it on in the background while multitasking.
But generally, I wouldn't stay indoors to watch a match if there were anything else to do, and there usually is
I know nothing about Politics or Religion, spent half my life coding and that saps your entire thought process.
I like you already.
Yes, some fold the slices if they are large enough.
@KP~~~ Why do people call it a pizza pie?
A pie is dessert.
@Molly~~~ Can't we lay on a blanket in a meadow somewhere instead?
Yes, the format of all the other forums I've (we've) been on was different. I much prefer the separate categories actually being separate. DH was unique in the fact that there were people in certain areas that might have been on there for a decade and you never saw them because you posted someplace else.
I only went into Current Events and Politics when I wanted to make fun of people and their thick heads.
Hi cranky.
We used to have fun and mickey taking but these days folk are very sensitive, for goodness sake its the internet were never going to meet, OR i would have given a Geordie left hook on the noes a few times Some folk in a self up yours type of way say things they would never say in person.
My Geordie left hook is true then, not a fib
Good to have fun ahhhh now down to glass of beer and all cheese pizza

Maybe some prefers to talk about religion, just for a reminder that we need a balance. Love comes from God after all. Politics, as we need to be involved as a part of society. Though of course we always have our own rights, beliefs for as long as we are happy of what we choose.
I don't have that desire to talk about religion as well, the fact that i don't read bible nor attend religious gatherings, as the place where am at prohibits the activities. I just thank God every morning i am able to open my eyes and still could breathe. I neither had that desire on politics the fact that, your country is different from mine, though i like reading blogs about politics, and i took things positively. If it don't suit my thalamus then just leave it.. Thanks a lot for this free site..
How about we talk about anything except religion and politics. Or feel free to flirt with me if you like.
Exred
Folks are not only sensitive, they are intolerant, ignorant and full of isms. Did I mention how much I dislike isms? I think I'll have a glass of bourbon when I get home from work. No beer for me. Gotta get rid of these extra few pounds that crept up from enforced idleness. I guess that means no pizza for a while, either.
And of course someone feels compelled to bring God into the discussion.
And of course someone feels compelled to explain why people think the way they think and feel the way they feel about religion and politics, Thanks!
Gotta go to work. Later!
