RE: CDC Director Acknowledges "Overwhelming Majority Of Covid Deaths - Over 75% ...

I had also seen that woman talking about changing the ways deaths were counted after one had received the vaccine and / or booster. Imagine that!!! So you receive the vaccine and get hit by car and die from your injuries and now she thinks it's unfair to call it a post vaccine death? Where was she 2 years ago when the same was done (and probably still is) to those that tested positive for covid, got hit by a car, died from their injuries yet were recorded as a covid death? So now it fits her narrative and we can just change the rules mid game? Such hypocrisy. The numbers have been jacked up from the git go but no one wants to change those. dunno

RE: BREAKING || NEW COVID VARIANT DETECTED IN FRANCE!!

Personally, I think it's time for people to realize and accept the fact that Covid (add whatever variant here) is going to be around for a very, very long time. I believe it will be our new normal "cold or flu". It's time to lift the mandates and let this thing run its course. Allow businesses to open with whatever protocols they see fit for their business. Allow customers to choose where to shop or not shop. Give them their control of their lives back. The virus is being spread by both vaccinated and non-vaccinated so what difference will it make? Keep vaccinations and boosters available for those that wish to partake. It's time to let nature take its course. The "vaccine" didn't deliver as thought. Remember back when they said if you took the vaccine, you couldn't catch it or transmit it? You could take off your mask and stop social distancing. Well, unless you live under a rock, that never happened. Then came the boosters....uhhh that didn't work either. Booster on top of booster on top of booster - uhhh still nothing. The only claim they can make is that it lessens the chance of hospitalization. Are all of those vaccines and boosters worth it? That's for the individual to decide not the government.
I had a cold last week. Was it a cold or was it Omicron? I don't know. I took a few ibuprofen, drank a lot of liquids,
slept a bit more and was good to go in a few days just like a cold. Go figure. They change their mind and rules so often it's ridiculous. Be done with the rules and mandates and let people go back to living their lives even if that means living with Covid. It's time to move along. JMO

Best thing I've seen in a while...

"Imagine releasing a product that doesn't properly do what you promised it would do....
And then blaming the malfunction on people who did not purchase said product....'Whilst telling those who bought it that they must buy it again every few months."

RE: Making New Years resolutions

I generally do not make New Year's resolutions. I do, however, try to set goals for the upcoming year.
Sometimes it's as easy as say saving X amount of dollars more per month or losing 20 lbs. by next New Years.
For me, resolutions are too difficult to keep and I end up just being aggravated.
Happy new Year!! danceline

RE: Happy New Year Weather

Yeah we're expecting 4-9 inches of snow tomorrow and then bitter cold behind it. I'm glad that I don't
have to go anywhere. Oh well, can't change the weather dunno

Happy New Year!!!!

RE: The 12 Days of Omicron

Very true conrad and this variant will undoubtedly just draw more attention to it

RE: The 12 Days of Omicron

Did you know that if you rearrange the letters in Omicron you get Moronic? confused

RE: Ol' Joe Inherited A US That Was A Major Exporter Of Energy -

I take issue with being thought of as a "cult" member because I believed in the policies of Trump. In a civilized world, I would think that it might be just a matter of opinion. Isn't that why we have more than one party to choose from? To find a candidate that closely or s closely as possible anyway, represents what each of us believe? I may not have liked Trump as a person but I really liked (and still do) his policies that the current administration has torn to shreds. I'm not angry with the legitimate people that voted for Biden. That's what elections are for. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I think there are a lot of people out there that are concerned that Trump will return and is a reason for the constant barrage of anti-Trump information. It's very difficult to defend the current administration so why not bash the former? Hell, they were bashing him before he was inaugurated. I find it sad that people can't agree to disagree.

RE: Biden is Succeeding at helping the USA citizens long term

Our gas prices were just under $2 /gal before Biden. Now they're just under $4 / gal Now I don't hold a PhD in anything but even I know that alone will raise prices on EVERYTHING across the board.

RE: Biden is Succeeding at helping the USA citizens long term

Just how long is "long term"? If things keep going as they're going - I'll be long gone! laugh

RE: Ol' Joe Inherited A US That Was A Major Exporter Of Energy -

The problem is - you can't defend "Ol Joe". He hasn't done anything to counteract all the damage that he's done and they know it. This is why the constant barrage of trying to stomp harder on Trump. Deflection from what's really going on in the real world. dunno

RE: Kyle Rittenhouse NOT GUILTY

We'll see tonight if the looting and rioting start....at least with looting someone will get something out of it as opposed to burning the whole place down dunno

RE: Kyle Rittenhouse NOT GUILTY

We'll see if it stays calm or if Black Friday shopping starts early....personally I'm preparing for the latter. Chicago police have had any days off taken away for now anyway so we'll see how it goes.

RE: How much money in U$ dollars will I need per month to live comfortably in your country?

Pedro in Chicago, in a decent neighborhood with an average home....property taxes can be anywhere from $1500-2800 per MONTH......it's horrible.

RE: BLM looking forward to some early Black Friday looting once Rittenhouse is acquitted

Just saw that the National Guard has been called up in advance in Kenosha. Talk about your "blue light" specials...

RE: BLM looking forward to some early Black Friday looting once Rittenhouse is acquitted

You know, They could start a side business for the upcoming holiday season. Instead of GrubHub - maybe Grab-N-Go or instead of DoorDash - Dash-Out-Da-Door. You place an order and for a nominal fee get your order. A lot of people could get their shopping done early....laugh

RE: So what's the problem with immigration?

My question would be (and I don't know the answer) - What country or countries just allow anyone
to emigrate into their country from another country without any processes?
dunno

RE: Want to learn a little Spanish?

I took Spanish in High School and College. That was many many moons ago and suffice is to say, I only remember some of it. Just enough to have some fun with my son's in -laws. My daughter-in-law as well as her relatives are El Salvadoran. Whenever there is a big get together, they have a tendency to speak amongst themselves in Spanish. I'm sorry, I find this rude especially when you know darn well they can speak English. To counter this on a few occasions, when I could pick up enough words to understand the gist of their conversation, I've answered them or added to their conversation in English. The looks on their faces was funny enough to me, to justify it. The "oh chit - she knows some Spanish" look. Makes you wonder though, how many times they were speaking of you and you just didn't catch it laugh

Anyway, I think English is a lot harder to learn so Kudos to you!

RE: why am i so hateful?

This is just my theory.....hate is a very emotion filled word just as love is. I don't think that I have ever truly hated someone. That being said....my go to is - not giving a rat's patooty. There have been some on here that have ticked me off, called me names etc. but after a while, you find out what their true character or lack there of really is and you find yourself, not hating them but simply not caring what they have to say or what their opinion(s) might be. To me, not caring or feeling anything for what they have to say is worse than hating them. At least with hate, they are evoking some kind of emotion from you. dunno

RE: BREAKING NEWS 10/7/21 11:31 AM EST

Oh I want to watch it live to see him go off the rails as he usually does. I'm sure our local news will disrupt programming for this "Special Report".

RE: BREAKING NEWS 10/7/21 11:31 AM EST

This just in:......Biden to arrive shortly in the Chicago area. Bet he won't be on the south or west side although wouldn't you get major street cred for trying to carjack the POTUS?
He's to speak or at least attempt to at 2:45. Visiting a company in the burbs that mandates vaccinations for all of its employees.
Time date stamp - 10/07/2021 1:24 pm

RE: a request for a fun blog

I remember back in grade school - maybe 3rd grade, we were studying rocks and were asked to bring in some unusual rocks if we could find them. A lot of kids brought their little rocks in and the teacher had a place on the windowsill for us to display them. It was winter time.....wouldn't you know some little boy's rock began to melt rolling on the floor laughing We laughed at that fro many years.

RE: How many employees have hospitals lost to vaccine mandates? Here are the numbers so far

Not misinformation - just a varying opinion.

There were (through early Aug 2021) per The Wall St. Journal, over 183,000 breakthrough cases in the US. They also stated that this number was probably low because some of the infected were asymptomatic and were not aware or reported. MA alone reported over 4300 breakthrough cases last week. Again, these could be under reported numbers. 35% of that state's new cases are "breakthrough" cases. This is not misinformation. These are some serious numbers. I know vaccines aren't 100% but at what point do you consider them ineffective in stopping the spread or contracting the virus. All it's doing right now is lessening the symptoms. The Delta variant appears to be slowing (in Chicago at the moment). Is this due to more vaccinations or is this bug just working itself out? Mandating or forcing people to get jabbed with something that isn't doing what it was meant to do i.e stopping the spread of the virus, is just wrong. Again, as I have stated earlier - I'm not an anti-vaxxer. I just try to have an open mind as to why the hesitancy. My bigger question is have there been or are there any studies that have been done with any long-term effects of the vaccine? Say 10 years from now. I only ask because I think of my granddaughters. Their mom and dad have very strong concerns and opinions on this. I can't even say what they have to say....

RE: I have learned a lot - and something about myself.

It's good that you found out early. Moving is hard work. My brother owns a small moving company. For many years, my son worked with him. My son eventually ventured out on his own with a smaller, more targeted moving company - not households but items. Art pieces, wall hangings, single pieces of furniture - that kind of thing. He eventually had to give it up and I'm glad because he isn't getting any younger and the back breaking work of a mover was showing some effects on him. Sometimes it's hard enough to have to sit and drive all day let alone then having to unload a truck and then having to drive back again. At least you are narrowing it down. Best of luck to you!

RE: 'Only' 3 1/2 more years of outrageous hypocrisy

I gotta tell you Jim - this one made me laugh out loud! rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Biden The Real Coward

They won't even let Biden go off script. They cut his feed yet again today when there was a question that was not on script. Just what are they so afraid of? And begs to question Who is really in charge?

RE: Hospital Is Full Of Vaccinated COVID Patients

Old "Heels Up Harris" isn't helping matters amongst those who are undecided on taking the vaccine in the first place. A tweet of hers from last night

By vaccinating the unvaccinated, increasing our testing and masking, and protecting the vaccinated, we can end this pandemic. That’s exactly what we are committed to doing.

As you would expect, she received a lot of negative feedback. Vaccinating those unvaccinated to protect the vaccinated seems like a pretty vicious cycle to me. The "vaccine" is supposed to protect you.

RE: Let us never forget

I remember walking into work and one of my team members stopped me to see if I had heard about what happened in NY. I hadn't. I turned on my radio and computer and at that time, no one was sure what had happened or what was happening. The 2nd plane hadn't hit the other tower yet. Once the 2nd plane hit, I called my son. I told him to turn on his TV and that he was not to leave the house. He was in college and still living at home. I told him that I needed to know where he was in case things got worse. I called his father and relayed to him what I had said to our son. I called my mom at her work to make sure she would be ok to get home. She worked about an hour from where we lived in Chicago. After all that, it dawned on me that chances were pretty good that we (my mom, my sister, myself and a friend of my mom's) wouldn't be heading to Vegas on the 12th for my birthday. We still had a sleepover at our house on the 11th because flights, at that point were halted but not canceled for the 12th. So we waited it out and finally got confirmation that yes our flight was indeed canceled. We all then spent a couple of hours cancelling reservations at the hotel and various restaurants.

On a side note - one of my sales reps in NY has a brother that is a fireman. Luckily, he happened to be off that day. Another sales rep of mine from Long Island waited an excruciating 8 hours to hear from his daughter that worked in one of the towers. Cell service was messed up and she ended up walking many miles to get to his house because she knew he would be worried. It was such a horrible day for so many people.

RE: Seasons

We seem to have hot and cold. Not too many in between. Hot from about June through September and cold from October through May. No Spring or Autumn. Just cold and hot. And well there's always construction laugh

RE: Joe Biden Remains Hiding at Camp David After Afghanistan Collapses

He couldn't use it as a Photo-Op - press did it for him. Staring at his watch like he had somewhere else more important to be. Talking to the parents of those poor dead military men and women about his own dead son instead of theirs. Buffoon is correct and a rude, insensitive one at that.
