it's not hatefulness. not bitter. nor bad attitude. environment can elicit "attitude" any where. the better the environment, the better that attitude.
i think much more "apprehensive", might be a better summation. with apprehension comes attitude. a natural defense to warn that you will stand your ground and to back off. sarcasm helps take the edge off.
most likely more to the story and "defenses" but i couldn't even begin to fathom every thing there might be.
I'd rather say too tolerant, then one day...

Cats are weird. Apparently, I'm not sure if it's true or not but cats don't meow to each other, . Cats try to communicate especially when you open the fridge and pretend to be your friend.
Dogs are like (If they could talk), "where bout's do I sit in this pecking order.
Cats are like (if they could talk), "fark off, open the fridge and then afterwards I'll sit on your lap to keep warm and purr, not visa versa.
