The man with the pigs heart didn't make it... aka pig-male-un
On January 7th, doctors performed a very experimental surgery by implanting a genetically modified pig's heart into a 57 year old man as a last-ditch effort of saving his life.Five weeks after surgery they reported the heart shows no sign of rejection.
News today... the man has died.
Doctors didn't give an exact cause as to what happened, only saying his condition deteriorated several days earlier.
One story I read said, it was ironic that an animal we turn into food that could ruin a heart is also an animal that can provide a new one.
This was the first of such experiments and I doubt it will be the last.

Not in any way mocking with this song, but it is topical again, 40 years or so later - heart of an ape, the liver of a chicken, the blood of an ox through a tube which they stick into my spleen which I borrowed from a cow -
Pig valves and other animal bits and bobs have been in use for a while, yes I agree, they will be trying again.
