Chatting on CS site vs using Whatsapp, Skype, etc with an unknown
My small dilemma takes the form of chatting via CS with men I'm trying to get to know, whilst they are requesting to chat elsewhere. Now I know that there are warnings about sharing one's personal contact info, as these men may potentially be scammers, but are there some who aren't scammers but prefer using other media to communicate?Whilst I have absolutely no intention of sharing my personal info with anyone that I don't know or trust (which is what I usually say to them when/if asked), why is it that there seems to be an aversion to using the site until both parties can agree to do otherwise?
I would not like to believe that ALL the men I've met ( those who ask) are really scammers?

1. People are wanting to get off the dating site while they can. This is because many dating sites won't allow the passing of personal information without payment.
2. People can video and do other things besides, on a chat app. You can't video call on CS. Using video allows users to better verify who they're chatting with.

Only after bucket-loads of cs mail I would go to skype (video). Eventually however
a video call or 20.... is needed (absolutely needed!) to not only confirm the person is real
but to see if chemistry "face to face" is as promising as in writing.
I have done the mistake of dating folks here at cs (travelling to each other)
without a handfull of them camera calls-
just to realize at first meeting that we are not meant for each after all.
Find out at video-calls ! Get help from a tech savy friend or relative to set up skype.

Also, even if we felt the need to be charitable, how do we know that person's circumstances, in truth? Of course, if they're in the game of deceit, they're gonna try and present a circumstance of impoverishness.
The other suggestion is to create a 2nd Skype profile and only use that for meeting someone you don't trust.
