What is it called when things don't add up?
dissonantly. If things don't go together well, you can call them dissonant. Dissonant voices are saying different things.

As in the voices in their head.

If 3312=96100

And 3421=9820

Then 1634 = ?
dissonance is the noun, why use the adverb?
Therefore:

1634=11230000
Hey, maybe

7x13=28

confused

???
That's not right.

According to your unusual logic the answer is:

31230000
(1^2)(2x6)(4)0000
=(1)(12)(4)0000

professor
(1^2)(2x6)(3)0000

=11230000

(correction)
The first rwo sets of numbers are multiplied by 3210.

Therefore last number multiplied by 3210 will give my answer.

The unusual aspect is that you put one zero for 1x0, two zeros for 2x0, and four zeros for 4x0.
Look at the original proposition again

(1x1)(2x6)(3)0000

11230000
3312 x 3210.

3x3 = 9
3x2 = 6
1x1 = 1
2x0 = 00

96100
________

3421 x 3210

3x3 = 9
4x2 = 8
2x1 = 2
1x0 = 0

9820
_______

1634 x 3210

1x3 = 3
6x2 = 12
3x1 = 3
4x0 = 0000

31230000
__________
1634

= (1x1)(6+6)(3)0000

= 11230000

@merlot

I'm giving you 1/2 a point, for getting most of it correct...

wave
For the sake of completeness...

3312=(3x3)(2x3)100
3421=(3x3)(2x4)200

I hope that make it clearer

That is correct

If the left hand side is expressed in base 9, 7 * (9+3) = 84 = 2 * 38 +8 = 28 base 38, so 7 x 13 = 28
Infinitely many solutions with 13 and 28 in different bases.
13 = x+3; 7x + 21 = 2y +8
7x+13 = 2y
y > 8, x > 7, x is odd
x = 9, y = 38, or perhaps x = 11, y = 45
7 * 13 base 9 = 84 = 2 * 38 + 8 = 28 base 38
so in base 9 arithmetic 7 times 13 = 28 base 38, trivial really.
If

012521=124793

Then

314994=1021122
(3^1)(3^0)(2 goes to 4)(9+2=11)(3^2)(2 goes to 4)
Ok, that was a pretty curly question, but I think the logic holds up
Or if you prefer:

(3^1)(3^0)(2^2)(9+2=11)(3^2)(2^2)
= 1021122
