Masking up...

I noticed the local pharmacy had remove the plastic shields at the registers. None of the grocery store staff are wearing masks. A small percentage of the customers in several stores are making up.
Things appeared to be getting back to normal and now I see the office staff at two physician's office are masking up this month saying some of their patients have tested positive for COVID, or variant.

Working remote and only go to my office when needed keeps me away from the crowd. At least seven friends, coworkers and family have been hit. Some had COVID more than a year ago and describe this round as headaches, sore throat, fever, but all said little or no respiratory issues they experienced before. Some only self-quarantined 3 to 4 days or until they test negative.

I'm planning a trip to see my brother next month and since his kidney transplant, is under visitor restriction. I'll be staying in the guest bedroom at his house.
The flight to see him doesn't have any non-stop flights and the last time I have to use 2 different airlines. My preference is to book the same airline for the entire trip with the connecting flight in a smaller airport with less wait between flights.
I'll bring along some test kits and mask up while on the plane.

Two family members caught it travelling to Ireland a couple weeks ago.

Didn't amount to much more than a cold, but it is around.

I too know of a couple dozen recent cases, most of mine involve airports.

You're right to take precautions traveling to visit someone who is compromised.
Does not seem fair that the OP can work from home avoiding the crowd at work while the crowd cant do that. hmmm thats about as right as others here in cs land saying they knly read your post if they have a mask on at the time.
Vax will give make you sick.
Masks don't stop shit.
Does no one read recent studies and statements from the FDA and CDC?

If you're anti VAX and anti mask why bother what the FDA & CDC recommend?
I think you should understand what they actually did.
Why did CDC change its definition for ‘vaccine’? Agency explains move as skeptics lurk

Social media is calling bluff on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for modifying its definition of the words “vaccine” and “vaccination” on its website.

Before the change, the definition for “vaccination” read, “the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.” Now, the word “immunity” has been switched to “protection.”

The term “vaccine” also got a makeover. The CDC’s definition changed from “a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease” to the current “a preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.”

Some people have speculated that the unannounced changes were the CDC’s attempt to hide the fact COVID-19 vaccines are not 100% effective at preventing coronavirus infection. U.S. Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky said in a popular tweet the CDC has “been busy at the Ministry of Truth.”

That data suggested the possibility that the updated booster might not be any more effective at preventing Covid-19 infections than the original shots.

Do your own research.
Good luck with the failing immune system.
