So if the Police is aware of an Illegal Immigrant, they ought to just close both Eyes, and chuck their Oath to uphold the Constitution?doh
It sounds like you may be in the country illegaly yourself.Maybe you should go back to mexico.
I just realized your picture kinda reminds me of Jack Nicholas from the shining...laugh

Well, I think this is a good idea. I have a family member who actually works for the border patrol in Arizona...and things have gotten out of control with the illegal immigrants crossing our borders on a daily basis. Yes, in a certain sense they do take jobs doing things Americans dont want to do, and the economy would probably crash if all 400,000 illegal immigrants were deported, however, there is a legal way for them to come into the US. Most of them just dont care or know how to read or write, or are just smuggling drugs across the border. Not to mention the scouts who blaze trails for groups of people to come over....including pregnant women, so they can have their child on US soil...thereby enabling them to US Taxpayer dollars...to support the child...yet, they send the money back to Mexico and are living like kings off our government! Something has to be done to enforce our borders. Alot of the aliens who try to sneak over get sick from heat exhaustion, or die. Who's paying for that? Oh, you and me! I think its a perfectly good bill. On the other hand, probably wont do much. If they get caught at the border they get booked, a bowl of chili, and a air conditioned bus ride back on the other side of the fence....and then repeat trying to get back into the USA! Some, two to three times a day! Sorry, but thats ridiculous. And the drug lord problems down there are getting really out of hand. So, hey, why dont you go live in Mexico then? Our country is a free country, for those who have followed the proper procedure to get here. Too many want a free ride for nothing...and our current government is making it easier!

I also agree with the fellow who talked about the military terms...I served my country...I think it would be a better place if everyone did at one point or another. cheers
"...and the economy would probably crash if all 400,000 illegal immigrants were deported,..."

its a myth. in any economy there is a natural rate of unemployment. if these guys go, there will be unemployed Americans who will step forward. there will be a minor disequilibrium in the labor market. thats all.

the liberals whose heart bleeds for illegal immigrants from Mexico are intellectual frauds. they r fine till these immigrants are their lawn mowers. their voices change when Indians start working for Microsoft, Google and Wall Street. what those foolish liberals dont realise is that the base of Silicon Valley has already started shifting to China and India. All the major Bay area technology investors have their offices now in China and India. America can import Mexican labor, but it will end up killing its technological superiroty with these stupid policies.
Mr. Pitts and Miss Drea, I agree with your comments! Well said!applause
I must admit that I am usually against anything that puts more government into our lives and threatens our civil rights. However, in this case, after listening to a debate between a sheriff from Arizona and a Congressman from your great (and broke) state, I have to side with law enforcement on this one. They are not stopping people for "driving brown" as many liberals always seem to scream..I am sure there is a fair amount of profiling going on but the law does not allow them to simply stop someone because they appear to be Mexican. There must be a legal reason for them to engage ANYONE, black, white, brown or otherwise..If it is proven that this law is being broken or even skirted in any way then I say they should be tried and convicted just like anyone else who breaks a law. You have to agree that something has to be done when people who enter this country illegally are getting as many or more benefits that the citizens.. Maybe the answer is to take away the incentive to come here.. I don't profess to be an expert on this matter by any means, but as a concerned citizen I feel that something must be done, it is already out of control.. JMHO

“When the Federal Government fails to provide for the security of its citizens, it shall be the responsibility of the states to ensure its own security.”
and the us and it's people having a history of racial conflicts should have learned about this past I don't how can any minority in the us can be supporting such law, for example, the irish and mostly african americans have been under discrimination since ever over there, ur grandparents fought in the streets to be treated equally, remember the 60's if they know you take part on this how would they feel? if you don't have the luck and bless to have them in this world they probably are ashamed in their graves with all the respect they deserve, just don't use the coin inmigrants of all origin are for politicians in election season.
I agree with denmcintyre--if you are stopped and have your picture ID/proof that you are here legally, then what's the problem? Many of us of all ethnic groups are stopped and asked for ID all the time for a variety of reasons. AND, if you are stopped and cannot prove that you are here legally, then you deserve to be sent back. (People from Europe, Australia, etc... who want to move to the United States have to go through the proper application process--why should we let another group skirt the procedures? It is not fair to turn a blind eye, no matter how "qualified" the argument). Suppose I wanted to move to Australia or New Zealand, and because my profession is needed there, I expect to bypass their immigration system. Gonna work? N O T ! The same rules apply for everybody. I suspect Arizona had no other alternative than to be proactive about this out of control problem. Thumbs up to that state.
