Sensibility

Coming from a country in which English is not our home language, it is quiet a challenge for me to express myself here. I don't have the advance training for the English language (would like one someday). Got only average understanding of the language. Sometimes I do have this idea in mind and cannot put it on English words properly. Frustrating. And maybe I did comments on some posts and was not clear on what I am trying to say really. And others would have interpreted them not the way I intend to mean.

I may (or may not) offend some bloggers. I do also misunderstood posts (a lot of times) and have to consult some English speaking persons for the interpretation of the written words here. I hope that you bear with my English. A help in learning more of the language will be appreciated.

Have the same experience with me?

go to bingo, with a double-book, if you can follow that, English is a doddle, wave

Shay, I can see that your English actually is really good. I guess there should be no misread in your comment. It might be the interpretation only, if any. wink
Shay....your English is very good from what I can see......when I try with different languages, I have to use a translator doh rolling on the floor laughing
Thanks Weep for the link. Will check that one up.

Summer, thanks. Yeap, we can't avoid misunderstanding sometimes.

Red, thanks. I do get someone to translate to me some unfamiliar English words.
Hi Shay wave

It's good to wonder how people perceive you... if you're being understood... and attempting to improve on this.

You're doing quite well.

I try to avoid using slang on CS because of this. I know many are translating and some cute phrase might translate into something rather odd. I prefer not to add that burden to anyone reading my comments.

I wish CS had support for other languages. Non-Latin characters come through as "?". Of course, I also benefit from this as it does keep more conversations in English. thumbs up

Nice blog. hug
Inthemind, thank you.

Thanks for being so considerate for me (and for us) non-English speaking individuals. You could also teach us some slangs from time to time. It would be nice to learn them. hug
Shay, do not worry, I have never had a problem understanding you. You have a wonderful heart!hug

I have a question for you. What does Ateh mean and what language is it?dunno
Hi Bsooner. Thanks for the comment.

"Ateh" is a tagalog (Filipino) word for older sister (in our country). It is a kind of respect to women older than the one mentioning it. In my case I use the word "Ateh" to those women older than me to show respect. Just like Ateh Marlene and Light.

Btw, "Kuya" is used to refer to older brother.
awww.... Same goes to me!crying I have a difficulties on accents. dunno
Rose, do not worry. The nice bloggers will understand us completely. hug
