Roll Call - My Name is
Its Shay = Sh**** A****I had this name for nearly 29 years now. Of course I do like my name. My mother told me my name was taken from a young Filipina actress who was famous when I was born. She adored her that time, and thought how pretty she was and that would make me pretty also carrying that name(of course that didn't work out, lol). My father let my mother chose my name, no discussion whatsoever.
Where your name came from? A combination of your mother and father's name (Yes, we do that)? Do you like your name? If ever one day you could actually change your name what would you choose?
Me, I would like Janina Caroline. Sounds gorgeous.
No intention of exposing your real name.

Shay....don't go tryint to tell people you're not pretty. You know we all think you are!!
My first name and my last name were given by my father and my middle names were given by my mom. They came from different islands or different ethnics so they had fair contributions over my full name
My first name was taken from a folk story, a legend about a small kingdom in my father's hometown. It was either the name of the queen or the war goddess of the kingdom
I am not interested to change my name at all. I like my first name as I think it's kind of unique and people seldom to hear it unless you come to my father's hometown

Sunny, sunshine. It connotes energy and vibrant. That's you. It begins with an S just like mine. So I can see you like the letter S. YAY! ...

Oh, so there was a discussion of your name then. Sounds beautifully traditional and respectable. Nice. I like it.
So Lach, your family name is your father's family name also right? And your middle name would be the surname of your mother when she was still single? That's how we compose our full name. Is it the same for you?
Shay- you will be happy to know my real first name begins with J
If I ever change my name, it would break that connection, but I guess if I was in a situation that I had to change my name, it would be ok
my real name means strong.
had a classmate before.her name's DJAMES.
stands for Dear Jesus My Savior. sweet
My real name is close to the one you mention. Sounds the same.
Our family and friends do tend to call us with pet names, right. Its kinda adoring.
Sorry if you took it that way, i did not know if i say it in a cute way seems with a pet name. That wasn't my intencione.
Wish you a nice evening!
Lach, just a friendly to D....
My name is Ed and it came from the horse, "Mr. Ed"!! hee hee Just kidding. Years ago there was an actor and singer named Eddie Cantor. That's where Mom picked my name. And coincidentally my last name also begins with a "C" just like Eddie Cantor.
If Dad would have had his way it would have been "Ciro". A popular latino name. And if my uncles would have had their way it would have been Jose Luis in honor of the then newly crowned boxing heavyweight champion of the world, Joe Louis. Jose Luis is Joe Louis in Spanish.
I have never really thought about liking or disliking my name. but I like it when people call me Mr. Ed which kiddingly makes reference to that rascally talking horse.
I wouldn't change my name.
I want two names also. What I have now I consider a short name. I want a longer one.
Nothing to be sorry about Laz. You did not say anything that you should be sorry about. What I mean is I like to be called in various names by my family and close friends, just like your family and friends did to you.
To my close friends, I am Shay. To my parents and grandparents, I am Anak. To my siblings, I am Ateh. To my Uncles, I am Lalang. To my Aunties, I am Ryl. So, few names also.
Yes, my father's last name is my last name, but my mother came from a tribe who doesn't have family name so my middle names were purely her ideas to give my name a certain meaning (kind of a hope or a prayer I think).
Oh, there's a belief here that you have to be careful when you choose your name for your children, this happens especially in my mom's tribe. If a child gets sick often, the parents or the elders would notice that the name given to the child doesn't really suit him/her, so it's advisable to change the name with a certain rituals (usually the parents have to prepare this red beans porridge which may remind you of the story of Jacob and his elder brother). Believe it or not, it's part of the traditional belief about names for your info
Names in reverse, interesting. I'll investigate.
From where are you? Asia? And connection of what?
Why naman po kakakilabot?...Charmaine sounds nice. Along with Cassandra, Casey. etc...
You seem to fit your name po. The idea na nasa other country po kayo is enough to say you are a strong person para tiisin ang lungkot at pagkalayo sa pamilya. Continue to be strong po.
There is a very small connection to Asia....can't give all my secrets away here!
I have to be mysterious for the ladies
maybe I will sign my names with
-x
your sweet.
i like your name/codename ............shay......
stay safe....
Thank you Ed. That is so nice of you.
So Eddie, sounds charming. Thank you for sharing your name origin. So, delightful to know where our names came from and the story behind it. We have also names like that in our place. The Spanish had influence a lot on us, and that includes the Spanish names we have been using in the Phils.
I would agree to your Uncles though with the Jose Luis. I like the J. Your middle name must be great as well because it came from an apostle's name.
To the priest, everlasting peace to his soul.
Remb our pact, only 11 months left now. lol
Take care and keep well din po kayo.
Battle maiden sounds dependable and strong also. A fighter.
