Do we really reveal who we are?

While I was waiting for my child to exit school today, I observed a female school staff member walking to her car. I paid close attention to the expression on her face. A sudden thought came to me, which was this: We see people on CS frequently, and they often share a liitle bit about themselves, but do we actually know what's really going on in their lives? I think not. Isn't it somewhat analogous to an iceberg, where we only see 10% of the tip, but the rest is hidden? I think no matter how honest we are, there's alway parts of our lives that we keep hidden. It probably relates to who we're talking to, and how well we know them. Anyway, I just thought this was an interesting observation.

Hugger...good observation. The only thing I might add is that the majority who only show the tip of the iceberg also only reveal their best 10 percent.

Most of us think were "the one", like me, but I haven't scored yet! hee hee

I think I'd better reveal more. Like maybe about 25% of the 90%!

By the way, did anyone see the World Series opener? Detroit didn't score either til the last part of the game. by that time the Giants were way ahead!

We all have 4 sides . The first 1/4 we only know, the second 1/4 we know and the people know too, the third 1/4 peolple know but we don`t and the last 1/4 we don`t know nor the people, That`s the part. That`s is always hidden. I hope you´ve understood, hard to explain in English

Particolor: More than 90% because spanish is the language more spoken after Mandarin which is the China language. The problem is that latinos don`t want to speak sapnish

I think the point made by funx is well founded, I think most of us tend to push the shiny 10% of ourselves on here, not always the case of course as some members insist on showing their dark 10%.

of course we wont reveal all of ourselves to everyone, cause this is after all a dating site and we really want our partner to know everything about us! therefore the blogs cannot possibly tell you who the person really is
