Funny thing in a way dont get me wrong with whats happening but we watched a documentary on discovery 3 days ago how these scientist are going to control global weather. We were laughing at it because it really is rediculous but they were giving the hard sell on it. Sure they can make it rain a little big deal, they forgot to mention you need to have a cloud first but anyway as far as hurricanes etc no hope. Now 3 days later and look whats happened.

This isn’t just a suspicion of the United States. The Chinese government announced in April the creation of the first-ever artificial snowfall over the city of Nagqu in Tibet.

Cloud seeding through the use of silver iodide was discovered as a viable way to make rain clouds in 1946. In 1947, the U.S. military attempted to use this method to seed a hurricane, which later hit the Georgia coast near Savannah. In the mid-1960s, similar techniques were used in hopes of muddying the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Vietnam.

I first heard of "cloud seeding" about 25 years ago, on a local radio station, here in SA. In a telephone "call-in" show, a farmer mentioned it - and no Internet at that time; people laughed him off, but not so sure now!

Must be something in it - we had snow here 2 months ago; unheard of in 100 years!

P ~ the storm was over 28 min ago; now our power went out!

@waf: The bad thing about that idea is that sometimes Volcanoes Erupt. Spectacularly sometimes. In fact if I wanted to kill as many people as possible, I would dump loads of nuclear waste into an active volcano.
