In sympathy with our friends; Down, down under....

Heavy flooding in Australia and Indonesia has left thousands of people homeless, towns without electricity & forced businesses & schools to close!
The death toll in Indonesia is rising as rescue workers make their way in to the most affected areas and announce their discoveries.....sad flower

Thank you St.Elmo for putting this out for all to see.teddybear
Non ~ wave With the world's economy is such a situation, these people's lives must be now even more difficult..my thoughts also go out to them!

Welela, ~ yes, sad situation, I received a mail yesterday from a friend there, which prompted me to write this...she said the situation was very bad in some places...everything has come to a standstill! Only mopping up & rescue missions are active..handshake wine hug
Just for the record, in our area, SA, we had more rain in Nov 2012, than the whole of summer 2011...Luckily we have good drainage that leads into our dams, as this is our main source of daily domestic water. Good engineering by our previous Government. thumbs up

The sad reality. Itulah - biasa sad flower
Elmo,
While the State of Queensland suffered flooding, Parts Of New South Wales suffered from bush fires and some flooding.
Victoria and Tasmania have also been devastated by bush fires.
These states are all on the eastern seaboard of Australia.

I am not 100% sure, but i dont think the floods got to where Parti and Waf live.

But the fires in Victoria did get to within 50km's of where i reside.

Thank you on behalf of those of us down under for your kind thoughts.
Simmon ~ wave Thanks for the info...I was about to write that I haven't seen Waffy also....of is he the gent with the surfboard. He loves to surf doesn't he?
Yea! those fires were bad and the temperatures...for the first time in history the Aussie weather bureau updated their color coding to introduce a new color (purple) into their charts! For over 50 deg C!
handshake cheers

Hi! Sir Elmo,

Just read your blog / news....
The same what happened here when Tsunami hit Japan. I will not comment anything..... I knew the feelings..... It's shocking!!!

Yours,
Crystal
Thanks El for your concern. It was 2 weeks ago when this flood happened and covered some parts of the city. Most people went back home as they didn't have any access available going around the town that day, 17 Jan. It took me 5 hours to reach office blues Sad to hear there were some people died and thousands of home damaged due to the flood sad flower

Sorry to hear about what happened in Queensland and NSW lately sad flower
yeah been reading about it in the news ...sad flower
crystal_sphere ~ welcome..my dear wave yes, the Asian countries in the pacific regions suffer many natural disasters, including your country. Our thoughts are with the Japanese in their times of crisis, we may not write it but think it..handshake
Oh this is so sad, I pray Waff is ok...glad to hear you are ok, Parti and i worry about our gals that live there!!!!sigh
Sail, Red, Cupid, Mike, Migsy, Boban..wave It is wonderful to even just share good thoughts of wellness, compassion, health & prosperity to our fellow brothers & sisters in neighboring countries..Those thoughts are never wasted in the ether but help to bring about peace & stability...

Just BTW, I would like to share something...during the 2004 tsunami disaster that originated in the SE Asian area..the waves of compassion that flowed into that area from the rest of the world...it was of a magnitude never experienced before on Earth & helped with healing... angel bouquet sad flower
St Elmo glad about our Parti now we just need waf to say he is okay.
At the moment weathers wars all around the world are killing people it is a sad world at the moment. I agree with 2004 but even then some money that was given did not end in correct hand.
Like you said though many hands of kindness and thoughts spread around the globe.teddybear
I hope all are safe their.
Red/Teddy ~ wave yes, Parti came on earlier; only other 2 regulars I can think of are Waffy & Shamaila, from Aus...hope they/families alright?

I know it's late now, but the Philippines also had some calamities several weeks ago..I did correspond with one of my friends there, then...
UK also had heavy rains in some places....hope it stays quiet now...
angel2 angel
Elmo,
Shamila is ok, I have seen her on some of the blogs.
I am sure Waf is ok as where he lives in not so close to the floods.
Of course there are other Aussies from here who we/i hope and trust and safe.
Hi St Elmo,

Very good of you to post this, also to the people of Indonesia. My thoughts and prays go out to these poor folk.

Many in Queensland without power also,I have family and friends further up North and they have been flooded out. But everyone is fine. The problem too is that a lot of folk in the state of Queensland do not have home/household insurance. Such a shame.
However as already meantioned with the recent bushfires also in most states, coping it as well. But thanks to the fantastic efforts of the Emergency/Firefighters/Search and rescue. They do a wonderful job.

Glad you've also had word from some of your friends in Indonesia, and that so far other members that we know of here are okay and safe.
