Turmeric Rice
Turmeric RiceA mild,fragrant rice cooked with turmeric powder.
It Can Be served with Indian food like curries
and it very nice with Vindaloo.
Ingredients:
320g uncooked rice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
400ml chicken stock
20g butter
Directions:
Put 320g of rice in a sieve,put in a bowl of water to let
the rice soak for 20 minutes.After 20 minutes remove the
sieve from the water and let the rice drain from the water.
Melt the 20g of butter in a sauce pan over a low heat, then
fry the rice for about a minute making sure you stir and coating
all the rice.Add 1/2 tsp of salt and 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
and mix well.Add 400ml of chicken stock and let it bowl over
medium heat.Once the rice is boiling lower the heat and put
the lid on the sauce pan and cook for 10-15 minutes.Take the
sauce pan of the heat and leave it with the lid on for
5 minutes.Then stir and serve
