My customary New Years tasks.......

Every year, to insure a good NEW year, there are certain tasks or rituals I perform...... professor

1. Before the new year, I take some money (any amount will do) and put it outside of my house. After the new year comes in, I go outside and bring the money back into the house. This (I am told) will help to insure that money will continue to come in through the new year)

2. Take the Christmas tree down (Bad luck to start the New Year with an Old Tree)

3. Call all of my children immediately after midnight.

4. New Years Day dinner MUST consist of pork, sauerkraut, black eyed peas. You can add anything else, but these 3 things you must have. (Brings good luck in the New Year).

I don't know if any of this really helps......but, I'm afraid to STOP doing it because my life has been good ever since I began.....

Do you have "good luck" rituals to start the new year? I'm open to suggestions for additions to mine..... wine

Kissing a loved one is a great way to start the new year off well. wink

Indeed, if you can ring it in with a wink bang
banana that's even better. applause
New Year's is a harmless annual institution, of no particular use to anybody save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks, and friendly calls and humbug resolutions.
premnidhi... Welcome handshake Everybody has different feelings, opinions and rituals regarding New Years. Personally, I stay at home, usually with family, hope good things for the New year and share a family meal on New Year's day. Spending time with family and working to better oneself, in my opinion is neither useless nor "humbug". Please don't "heard" everyone in the same "pen", so to speak.... handshake

We have some other "rituals". As example we use Christmas tree for New Year too and take it down before 6-th of January.

And my personal rituals are:
1. Call my daughter in first seconds after midnight....of course

2. hand kneading and backing bread with cheese on the table. It must bring to the home happiness and prosperity in whole next year

There are more but not so important......

Happy New Year!
By the way every time I forgot to tell you that this pink colour suits you very much! thumbs up
