Last night I took one of my granddaughters

roller skating...I used to go all of the time when I was a kid...all of the way up until I was about, ohhhhh, 16 or so. Skating parties our school put on or weekends for something to do. LOVED it giggle

Anyway...I took her to the same rink I used to go to and it was amazing to see that not much as changed. Skating to the beat of the loud music that plays....flickering lights.

There's always a huge array of people....parents with their small children...."tweenagers" being cool.....there's always a loner, usually a guy that's an AMAZING skater there all by himself....Older folks holding hands as they round the corners... daydream

Made me smile.....made my granddaughter smile....good time.....

Yeah, I remember our school skating parties. I came from a small town in Colorado and there wasn't too much entertainment there so we always looked forward to a different social activity.

It's funny, even though I liked to roller skate on my own metal wheel skates on our sidewalks in town I never really got too excited about rinks.

Ed..I always liked the loud music and skating to the beat. Even though you're there with a bunch of people, it was easy to just become part of the music as you skated 'round and 'round.....

Lgs...wave no! well not in my time...and even now, I don't think any of those Yanky type roller skate & ski rinks exist (I speak under correction, may exist in certain areas - I am in a farm, hilly billy type now existence grin) I used to take my young daughter (10) to quiet shopping centers on Sundays though just for the experience! I bought her skates...wine hug
