8 more weeks until i reach heaven on earth

We've been waiting a long time already.. but D-day is in sight for me and my beloved lady. 8 weeks from now we will be able to reach out and touch eachother for the very first time.
I'm starting to get a bit nerveous... so many things left to do... so much to think about.
What do i take with me?? what clothes??? how many?? what else do i need??
Gifts, i need to buy some gifts... what do i get?? what would please my lady???
Think i've got an idea what i could get her... (suggestions Always welcome by mail)
Gotta make sure all my paperwork is done so my payments home don't get behind..
Gotta make sure my creditcards are activated for her area of the world... same thing for my Phone.

BTW anyone know how i could take belgian chocolate with me?... I fear it will melt because it will be pretty hot there.
I will need to change planes at an airport.. I'll be waiting there for about 5 hours in 30 degrees celcius and then from the next airport to my hotel will take another hour or so in those temperatures... Doesn't seem like good conditions to transport chocolates.

8 weeks will fly by --especially when you are going to be so busy !
What a wonderful time you have ahead with your lady thumbs up
As regards the presents for her ,i'm sure there will be a gift shop in the airport when you reach your final destination --you can buy her flowers and chocolates there thumbs up so both will be presented to her fresh gift bouquet
please give her my warm regards wave
Hi TEDDY kiss

Long time...

GIFT...

Give her your love and the rest you buy together.

wine
serenity4two... yeah i will do the flower stuff i think... but she doesn't like chocolate... that would be for her family.. and belgian chocolate is the best in the world so i would like to take some with me from home.
Teddy, just do as Four1 says or you'll just have to sit in front of the air-con outlet doh laugh rolling on the floor laughing
Fotinia, I know she doesn't want me to bring her any extra gifts.. she says i'm all the gift she needs.. but still It can't hurt to take something extra with me. laugh
Zman, I guess if it gets to hot on the plane I could try and open the door to let some fresh air in rolling on the floor laughing
Hi Z wave
hows your weekend going ? hug
Four1, take no notice of the grumpy old Teddy, I've had a busy week but probably not as busy as yours dunno wave
Teddy, calm down and take a deep breath. grin I am so happy and excited for you.

1st Clothes - you need only the amount of clothes for the length of time you are traveling. Google the area and the weather conditions for the time period which will give you an idea what to take. Make sure you get all of your shots for the area. Walk with medication you may need - motionsickness etc.
2nd - Gifts (will email you on that )
Teddy, no need to go to that extreme, planes do have windows wow laugh rolling on the floor laughing laugh
Zman, busy as in laying on the sofa sipping margaritas don't count.
bajan, i'm going for 3 weeks so i won't be able to take enough clothes with me but i can have my laundry done there..
Its will be rainy season but don't expect i need special clotes for that.. it will still be better then belgian summer.
rolling on the floor laughing Teddyb.* Take your meds And a toothbrush with you too!
serenity4two.. don't worry.. you can hijack my blogs whenever you want... especially when its for talking to zman... i know the poor man doesn't have many friends rolling on the floor laughing
Angel honey, I'm in perfect health so i don't need medications. Toothbrush??? Hmm that could be handy. laugh
Z ,,, I thought you were gonna wait until all of us could join you round that table of yours in your lawn ,before starting with the margaritas!!!
Teddy , you and your lady will be sharing plenty of meals and drinks before too much longer wine
Four1, I won't be touching a drop till you all arrive liar
yeah ...right!!!! liar laugh

I would love to be there right now !!

or no ,,, wait a minute ,,, we're supposed to have a heatwave for 1 day 2moro

cool ,, can you wait for me til Tuesday ? laugh
By the way TEDDY
I think that food is forbidden to take into the plane
You'll be able to put them ONLY IN YOUR BAGGAGE as beverages

beverage delivery
laugh
indeed Teddy ---just be careful hug
there are some beautiful dishes there i'm sure --but some are really unusual dishes that may not be to your liking --but i'm sure your special lady will advise you well on what to avoid thumbs up
heatwave in ireland??? what is this wrong with this world????

Fot... dunno i will have to check the regulations.

I was first planning to put some electric wires true the side of my bags... But someone said the people from customs don't have a good sence of humour. So i won't try that.
zman... If i put it in a sealed plastic bag it won't touch my clothes even if it melts right?
I know !!!
but apparently it's just for one day --so I doubt I will get a tan sigh but hey ,, we here in Ireland have to enjoy every single second of the sunshine ,,, we don't get much of it ,, and there could be hailstones on Tuesday ! laugh
even though it will rainy season where you are travelling to Teddy ,, it's still going to be very hot ! bring plenty of cool light clothing thumbs up
Serenity4two.. We have a saying here...
I love belgian summer... its my favourite day of the year.
I guess the same could be said for ireland rolling on the floor laughing

Yeah but maybe i should take a suit with me.. But how many jeans?? Will I wear shorts??
How many T-shirts do i need for 3 weeks??? do i take a jacket with me??? wich one??? How many pair of shoes? What kind of shoes? Do i need slippers?
So much to think about
Teddy, other people may want to take luggage as well, leave some room in the hold doh
it sure could Teddy laugh thumbs up

right ,,, lets get you sorted ,,,,
yes definitely bring a suit !!,,,
you say , you will be able to have clothes laundered when you're there ?
well then bring clothes for 10 days --
ie enough for 1 week --then launder as you head into beginning of second week
bring plenty of tshirts and shorts --couple of jeans -
couple of good trousers and 4/5 nice shirts for going out at night -- a lightweight rain jacket ,,something waterproof --there you go ,,,sorted thumbs up
one pair of good shoes for going out in the evening --and one pair of good walking shoes --
and definitely bring slippers and lightweight dressing gown thumbs up
thankyou for your PM ,, I've just sent you a reply mail ,,Goodnight Teddy --sleep well and
chat soon hug wave
Goodnight & don't worry, you can always but anything you've forgotten, it'll probably be cheaper there but they might struggle to find your size uh oh wow laugh rolling on the floor laughing
How are you Teddy,
I guess you feel somewhat like a teenager about to ask your
sweet heart to the dance. At least you can take solace in the fact that you know she will say yes or in some respect already has.
Still this wont stop the sweaty palms and racing heart on the big day, But why would you want to these are the sings your doing something right, the signs you are living your life. Don't sweat the small stuff big guy save that for the day your on bended knee. laugh

As for the chocolates Could you trust yourself on an 8 hour flight.
I wouldn't trust me and I have ulcers laugh

I wish the two of you the best of luck cheers
The first meeting is always wonderful... like Non said don't sweat the small stuff ENJOY this moment because sometimes they are magical...

I live in a very hot country my suggestion for clothes would be light colors they are fresh and what to bring her, besides your pressence and the enormous gesture of coming to her country I will write in an email

Good luck and enjoy every second with her wave
There is no need to waste your money for chocolates Teddy, u can bring them something from plane-snackslaugh cheers
Hi Teddy,

Eight weeks are nothing. In the end the time will fly so fast you will not get a chance to do all you want. I wish you all the luck and nappiness in the world.
beer cheers
As to your question about what to get you lady I suggest that you make her a gift that you put your heart into. I made Fe a ring out of a silver quarter it took me hours to pond the edges down and drill out the middle.

She loved it in fact it was the ring I married her with. Anyone can go out and buy something but when you put your heart into a gift it means a lot.

Peace and congrats to you and your lady for finding each other
Well, I know where you're at Teddy..... I thought about these things as well when I went to meet my fiance's family. I found out that over half the stuff I packed I never used, or needed. You'll probably do the same. No matter how hot is might be, pack at least one jumper just in case it gets cold. Unless you don't mind buying stuff on the fly.

1 or 2 pairs of shoes, don't forget a spare pair for going out.

Pack jocks, toothbrush, toothpaste, and deoderant in your carry-on gear, you never know when your luggage might go awol....

Phone - you don't need one. Not really. Well the sim anyway. If there is wi-fi where you are going (most parts of the civilized world have this everywhere for free, the airports most certainly do anyway) you just need Viber to make phone calls and text. It'll save you a packet on international roaming.... Also there are internet site that'll send a free text message to any mobile phone anywhere in the world. Use them.

Chocolates - you can probably buy them cheaper where you're going than carting them around the globe / airports. Nearly every duty free outlet in any airport will sell them. Get them just before you go through to meet your lady.

Camera and spare batteries - a must. Take plenty of pics of you and your lady together (you may need them to help prove you have met in person).

Keep all your records, don't throw away anything, airline boarding dockets, hotel invoices, everything. You may need them if you and your lady decide to immigrate using some sort of relationship visa later on to help prove that you have actually met in person.

Keep a record of all the times you phone your lady. Also print out your emails. You will need them (well, I did anyway when my fiance was putting together her visa application to come and marry me) - these will help evidence an ongoing relationship if you or your lady decide to immigrate to be together.

Travel Insurance - don't leave home without it. Even if you are fit. I ended up spending 3 days in hospital. All is good, but you just never know what might happen. Foreign food, foreign water, etc.

Definitely take a relaxed attitude - don't get uptight and you've got heaps of time to think of other things.....

Take it easy - as difficult as this might sound, it helps to keep a cool head and you can plan and problem solve better than an excited headspace....
Oh, Teddy. That's so great. 8 weeks will fly by and soon you will meet the lady of your dreams and she will meet the man of hers.
I can not tell you how happy I am for you guys.

Have the time of you life together. Good Luck!hug teddybear
ted, I am glad for you, happiness to you and wellbeing.
Happiness - understanding of purity of soul,
Way – distant, cool bends are expensive.
It is necessary to remember only, dear friends,
Happiness very fragile, rare Star!

z...... is being mean to you...... silly billy z..........
Zman, Thanks for making me feel more confident laugh

Nonsmoker, I've been great, and yes i would trusth myself with all that chocolate... but if not.. I'm still safe since i won't mention before how much i'm bringing with me rolling on the floor laughing Thanks for the wishes

Abagail, Yeah maybe i just worry to much.. Guess i'll find out soon enough

Lonelymontse, Thanks for the mail.. I was thinking something like that. I'm more wondering what i can expect from this rainseason... Friends of mine who traveled in asia before tell me it only rains a short period each day and feels like a hot shower... Don't think it would bother me so not sure if i should bring special clothes for that.
