I would love them and wish them well and leave them be, if that's what they'd prefer. (Love respects the wishes of the beloves, after all.) Then I'd forgive the situation (look for some blessing in it) and move on... I love for principle, not for a required "outsome". That way, I always get to enjoy feeling love for another without making any demands that stand in the way of me being happy. It's highly recommended and widely misunderstood. Love is its own reward.
