I tend to follow the latter part of your question.
I don't like to be pushy or be pushed in any direction, it makes the world feel fabricated. If you understand.
I agree with non! I think things should take there course!
so your talking husband/wife material?
Only when both partners feel happy with it.
Every language has its own terminology to describe the person you are going out with.
In French, as you know, "Mon amie" or "Ma petite amie" (my friend, or my "little" friend)
Personally, I have never really liked the word boyfriend/girlfriend... Anyway, if you introduce your girlfriend to someone, people can see that she is a girl, so I don´t see any logic in it!
Also, by putting the word "my" in front of anything (my girlfriend/boyfriend, my partner, my lover etc...) implies that that person is your possession like your house and your car...
I would much prefer to say: "this is the man I am in love with", or "this is the love of my life"...
But, that´s the language for you!

Miss them when not with them
You promised to call and something came up - it upsets you
They promised to call and haven't
When the time is right you will know.
"My girlfriend" - what is wrong with that?
She hopefully will describe you as her boyfriend to her friends and family
This is the way it will be and was always thus.....
I just go with the flow. You cannot force these things and when you have a time frame attached to it there is no more free choice. Then things become forced.
It is a natural progression that has no set time...my guess is when you decide to become mutually exclusive...have a great day!!
