I planted a tree this morning...
OK! OK! Nothing exciting, I know...
But there was a steady drizzle...and this was at 7.30am
Amazing what a few Johnny Walkers can do for motivation...
No! It is not a marijuana tree...This is how it will look in 3 years time..it will be the 3rd & last of its species in my yard...

Because, I start them of from seed in trays, then transfer them to little pots after a few months; and later into bigger pots, before they go into the ground....when they about 1.5 - 2.0 meter tall
Will go into the ground next spring....they produce a volley ball size fruit..delicious butter pear...
The little dude balanced between the two large pots is a cycad tree, he needs to get transplanted...as soon as I find a larger pot.

That cycad is a pup from this parent...
I live a mere 20 kms from a city called Pretoria, nicknamed The Jacaranda City....because they grow so profusely there...
There are many avenues lined with these trees...makes a beautiful drive through....

The leftmost background image is a jacaranda tree, viewed from my bedroom window....it's autumn here now, so the bloom is over...but come spring..they be right up there amongst the best! I have 2 x mature guys..

I posted a pic of my apple tree about 18 months ago...at about 2m, now it is a good 4 meter tall and has a handful of fruit...
