"What does the Bible say about feminism?
Should a Christian be a feminist?"Answer: This question is especially important to Christian women. Does the Word of God address feminism? The modern concept of feminism was not present during the time that the Bible was written, but that does that mean that the Bible has nothing to say on the basic issues of feminism. Even when the Scriptures seem to be silent on something that affects us today, there are eternal principles that speak to the underlying issue.
First, we should define feminism, since the term can have different meanings for different people. Basically, feminism is a philosophy that advocates equal rights for women and men—socially, politically, economically, and in other ways. Early feminists fought for and won suffrage for women. Today’s feminism goes further than demanding equal treatment of men and women, however. Modern feminists fight for language equality (saying “chairperson” instead of “chairman,” even if the person in question is male) and gender equality (redefining femininity and masculinity). The more radical feminists actively seek to overthrow any vestige of male dominance in society, to the point of opposing the biblical roles of husbands and wives, defending abortion on demand, and promoting lesbianism. Radical feminists deny there is any difference between men and women, teaching that any perceived differences between the sexes are due solely to social conditioning.
Modern feminism is a counterfeit solution to the real issue of the inequality of women in a sinful society. Feminism arrogates to itself the right to demand respect and equality in every aspect of life. Feminism is based in arrogance, and it is the opposite of the call to the born-again believer to be a servant. The modern, militant feminists call women to rise up and rebel against the order that God has given to mankind. That brand of feminism seeks to impose humanistic values in direct opposition to the Word of God. Feminism was originally a positive movement, focused on giving women the basic rights God intends for every human being to have. Tragically, feminism now focuses on destroying all distinctions in the roles of men and women

and obviously not practiced.
i dont think standing up for your god given right is concider wearing a mans garment, so what happends when all has fallen against you and there is only your woman to fight for you shall she sitdown and let you figure it out or shall she continue your fight and struggle for your freedom, think really hard what that verse means i think your gender is blinding your understanding
The bible was never meant to be read as fact. It is a book to be read to guide people of faith through life. If you do not have faith then you will not be able to read, understand and interpret it for our times. In fact most people who do try have a difficult time of this and that is why there are theologians to help us with this. If you are a non believer you will think that they are telling us what to believe. But we have our own minds. Believe what you want. If you don't want to believe I can't make you and I will respect you for your decision, SO PLEASE respect those who do and their decision.
There has been a lot of bashing on the blogs about peoples faith or lack or. Please read the blog rules. One things it says is to respect everyone's opinion. I really try to do that.
Sorry this is not about the blogs but as good a place as any to share my opinion.
Thanks and have a great day.
Not a religious sort but I think you are right...culturally speaking our style of dress is different for all genders and regions...does it really matter at the end of the day...is the question I would ask!!
At the time, this verse was written, there must have been a clear distinction in men's and women's dress, whatever it was.
According to this verse, this dress distinction should be maintained. This is the point I wish to make.
Personally, it does not matter to me what garments women wear.
It is the Bible that insists that "a woman shall not wear a man's garment" (whatever that garment is)
I shall leave the matter there.
Thanks for your voice...
??????
I give up! I can't believe that you are for real!
I sure was wrong about you. Anyway, thanks for teaching me about your thinking. It really is amazing!!!!!!
I think leah is just having fun...not up for a serious debate and maybe she misunderstood your comments...just a thought...
No disrespect...but I don`t believe in god...I am all for people and human rights...not to infringe on others` beliefs or discriminate against anyone...live and let live...enjoy your sleep!
The challenging part of this topic is that whether you believe in god or not...people deserve to be able to live without fear...to be who they are without judgement...
Women are equal with men by nature, for both are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Though women are functionally different, in respect, to their different function within the family and in the church, it does not mean they are inferior. It just simply means that God has equipped men and women differently for different roles in both the home and the church (1 Corinthians 11:3).

How are you sir.
Deuteronomy 22:5 prohibited a man from wearing any feminine clothing or ornamentation, or a woman from wearing any item of masculine clothing or ornamentation (i.e. transvestism). Though cultural customs may differ, the command to not blur the distinction between a man and a woman, remains the same, for God created men to be men and women to be women.
In other words, the command was simply to not blur the distinction between a man and woman.
As to your question concerning heaven, I believe heaven is an actual place (John 14:2-3), in another physical dimension, where believers will one day be face to face with God.
God bless!
