Gods personal letter to Cyrus

Daniel (lived until the third year of Cyrus) presented Cyrus with the writings of Isaiah..which includes a letter addressed to Cyrus by name written 150 years ealier. Can you imagine his reaction? A letter written to Cyrus before he was even born from God! It said "I am the Lord that maketh all things;that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; that frustrateth the tokens of the liars and maketh their deviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish; "that confirmeth the word of His servant and per-foemeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, thou shalt be inhabited;and to the cities of Judah, ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof: That saith to the deep, Be dry and I will dry up thy rivers: That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, thou shalt be built and to the temple , thy foundation shall be laid " Isaiah 44:24-28 thus saith the Lord to His anointed , to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates and the gates shall not be shut.". Isaiah 45:1 and so the letter continues the whole passage....by calling Cyrus by name , Cyrus realized that this was definitely from God Himself, He was impressed and stunned with the description which was written long before he was born detailing his entire career, including the circumstances regarding the fall of Babylon, that he arranged for the Hebrew captives to be released. To return to Jerusalem...How awesome and what an awesome God we serve.

Ahoy Sharnah,, hope the weather in Cape Town is as great as here. Trying to get my bike started for a ride. Have a great day.wine
Hello Sharnah.
I see you are once again writing your quotes on your blogs but never seem to have the time, nor the inclination to answer people´s questions unless you can find a quote somewhere.!

This is my last comment on your previous blog:

"You still haven´t answered my questions though and I - as well as others on this blog - are waiting for your answers with YOUR original thought"confused confused confused
Hi Luke yes weather is awesome in cape town...beach weather ...gosh would love a bike ride sometime when you in ctthumbs up dancing
Minerva as much as you want to here something that comes directly from me I will have to disappoint you as I will keep quoting the Word of God as that's where my knowledge comes from...just to let you know..there is no need to even ask me these questions because if you take that book called the bible..yip that's the title and read it all the questions that you have will be answered.but just to let you know I have responded to your question on the other blog .not that even those answers will satisfy you as once again in comes direct from the Word of God. thumbs up
@Sharnah: Eeeeee....Sorry, wrong answer.
What a poor excuse. The Bible will answer your questions...pfft. How can a book answer that which was directed at you?professor
Doc lol oh you are really the pits ...your personal vendetta is getting little annoying..I don't worship aliens as you do and yes the word of God has got all the answers and you yourself can find many if you just READ
Sharnah, it is not really fair to tell someone "just read the Bible" for an answer when they ask a question about something specifically. Unless I'm wrong, we're told God gives His Spirit to His children to help understand His word, or at least isn't that what Christians are taught? Also, what is she supposed to do, start at page one and read through everything until a bell goes off with the answer for her? You can quote Gods word, but it should be specific to the question, and clearly answers it. When Christians just spout scripture with no insight they CAN come off just as robotic persons with no mind, or original thought, of their own and I know you have one. If you don't know how to answer someone, you with your love for God, and with all your knowledge and understanding of Scripture, how are they to know the answer, with their lack of understanding? teddybear sad flower
thumbs up I'll keep that in mind.wine
Calm thank you for your message...I do have the right to tell people to read the word of God if they need to understand more i know you mean well with you words and thank you for it..I can only say so much but it is good to get to know God through the word...tell me something when the pharisees was asking Jesus questions was it because they wanted to know God and more about him or was it because they wanted to look for some reason to discredit Him?
@Sharnah: Eeeeee....Sorry, wrong answer.
The Bible will answer your questions? How can a book answer that which was directed at you?
Thick. Thick. Thickity. Thick. From Thickville.
doh
@Sharnah...your obvious love and passion for the word of God comes through in your posting but I must agree with Calmheartseeks...you need to enlighten and address questions put to you...we are all on a journey of discovering and growing in the knowledge of who God truly is and who we are...its ok to say you do not have all the answers but are willing to find out...you are privilege in the way you have come...now it is your turn to help others in the same way you were taught...I'll put my head on a block and say nobody told you to just go read the bible when you had questions.....dunno confused

...but keep up the good work with your blogs so far...thumbs up

one last thing though...could I ask you to please communicate the word of God in a version that people can relate to...Old King James just screams Colonialism...maybe try NKJV....or even better NIV...perhaps even be daring and knock yourself out with The Message Bible....wine hug teddybear
How do you know they are just trying to discredit you? Many people do have sincere questions and are trying to understand. If we took the stance not to answer because all those that question are just trying to discredit, that would be unfair, don't you think?
Beautifully put, Kittyjoy.
Sharnah

I think you are being very unfair to Doc, saying:
"Doc lol oh you are really the pits ...your personal vendetta is getting little annoying..I don't worship aliens as you do"
I think this is a very un-Christian statement.

I do not recall any statement from Doc, implying that he worships aliens.
Please quote it if there is.

Here is a verse for you:
2 Thessalonians 3:5
Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.

It seems to me that you are the one with the vendetta.
You should practise what you preach.
I think you should apologise to Doc if you cannot show that he worships aliens.
I disagree with you socrates! doc bashes every blog sharnah writes! A week or so ago, doc talked about God being an alien and that is what he believed in. He also stated that Jesus Christ was an alien!

By the way, Sharnah can write any kind of blog, as anyone can, as long as it stays within the guidelines of cs.

There are malicious people on these blogs which I am tired of listening to! They need to clean up there act!....NOW!frustrated
Hi Sha.. I have a parrot and I just wondered if I taught him to recite the bible,...Just like you ...Would he then become one of the chosen onesdunno Just askingconfused wave

Good point...we need to answer questions from our experiences or from our heart not reciting quotes from books...otherwise people will think you are superficial...lots of hot air no substance...
Sharnah. Thanks for your comment. However, you still haven´t answered my question.

Just as a reminder, here is my comment made on your last blog:

"No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us."

May I ask you a sinple question: As no one has ever seen "God",
how can one determine what gender this "entity" is? And also, what does it look like?

dunno dunno dunno

According to your comment, I should be reading that book called the "Bible" and find the answers?
Maybe you could englighten me by telling me which page I could find these answers?
In the case that it is not written, then, where do you get your information?doh doh confused

GOD is referred to as GOD the father, Jesus was his son who came to teach mankind the word of GOD.as far as actually seeing GOD I am not sure if anyone human has. could be wrong. all we know is that we, mankind were made in his likeness. don't know if that will answer your question or not.handshake
Sister Sharnah,

Another great blog. Keep up the Good Word!!

And my exact sentiments. If you want to know then read the bible. If you've read the bible and are still of the same mind set then you are as God says. Your blind and deaf because you don't want to see or hear. After all He created all of us and He knows our very thoughts!

I am looking forward to your next blog.
It is when you give them the Word, and they reject it, they are blind and deaf. Not when they haven't received it. Jesus didn't tell people to read the Bible. He asked Christians to be witnesses and spread the Word.

I know some people on here ARE trying to destroy Sharnah's credibility. But I also feel some have honest questions. As KittyJoy said we are all learning and are on different parts of the journey.
These posts remind me of a song:

Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me snowed in
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see. angel2
I have had a long look at the blog rules and nowhere have I found anything saying that the blogger need to answer any questions. In fact this is a blog and not a discussion forum.

Nor did I find any restriction on cutting and pasting anything from any source; The Bible included.

Also no rule that states that anybody have to read all blogs. I see lots of blogs that I don't like or agree with and I just skip them. Respect goes a long way. As we respect the opinion of non believers I think it is not too unreasonable to expect the same respect in return.

The blogger does not claim to be an authority on the subject and as such cannot be expected to know all the answers and she does not dispute cutting and pasting the verses directly from the Bible. If you don't like the blog, why not it skip it? Apparently there are others here who do want to read it.
Good points Catfoot, but she isn't expected to know all the answers, as KittyJoy said. Just share what she does know...it would be a great burden for someone to have to have answer all questions, if beyond their knowledge, I agree!!!

However, Serendipty has often stepped in to help. And so far msot of the questions have not been that difficult for a Christian to answer; i.e. what gender is God, what is fear of God, etc.

No, she doesn't have to answer. But I do believe many questions are sincere and there is an opportunity there for her to help, as she seems to want to do by starting these blogs.
Thank you calm for your message and yes we ought to answer from the word of God...but if someone really wants to know about the word of God then they should read it...the bible is not complicated as kitty mentioned there is eAsier versions to the bible..will we always be here to answer...the source is the bible so which better way to know.
Oh, there is a restriction on cutting and pasting copyrighted material in the Terms of Use and the Blog Rules. That does not apply to posting Scripture verses, that is fine. However, articles authored elsewhere on the Internet are under intellectual copyright by the author.

Under Blog Rules:
No copyrighted material.

Under Terms of Use:
You agree not to: Post or transmit material that is copyrighted or trademarked, unless you are the copyright or trademark owner or have the permission of the copyright or trademark owner to post it.

Post or transmit material that infringes on any other intellectual property rights of others or on the privacy or publicity rights of others.

Simple.

Where Doc is concerned has he even read the blog...was he debating about this blog or who was he targeting?it does not even bother me that he does that as I did not come on CS expecting that everybody would except what is being said. tribulation comes with the price when you spread the Word of God.
Calm if you haven't noticed not once have I said to my Christians brothers and sisters that they are not allowed to answer a question on what someone has asked..its not my blog this is our blog so if someone that has the info that is needed to answer gives I thank God that they are able to..I might even have missed seeing the question...its a sad thing when those who say they love the Lord find something so petty to seek an argument about...
Catfoot thank you for you comment God blessthumbs up
Edthumbs upGentlejim thumbs up Serendipity God bless you brothersthumbs up
Exactly Sharnah thumbs up

Wishing you a great time. Looking forward to reading your next blog.
