I forgot the headline...

The new Thorium car, created by a company called Laser Power Systems, is completely emission-free, turbine-free, and is electricity generated. It’s one of the new sustainable-powered engines to show just how unnecessary modern day propulsion engines are and also offer an exciting alternative. Fueled by nuclear thorium lasers, this engine only needs 8 grams of fuels every 100 years.

wow that sounds great ......can't wait for all the diesel trucks to be converted to one of those engines ....banana
wowow and many years ago someone told me that has been discovered long ago but for some reason not broth up to day of light until now ? cheering
I am so excited Dedo but what will be the cost to have one? In my country, we do have the electric fueled cars, like Leaf (Nissan) and Volt (Chevy), but for the life of me, it is twice the price of an ordinary car? Why? Beats the hell out of me...
I know why, my dear Enigma. The control of the current vehicles are run by the 10 percents of the population who are all the investors and has a lot of money staked on the oil industry and of course for their profit protection..When in fact even with the reserves we have on oil now, should make the price about 60 cents per gallon. But profiteering my dear...
I noticed the phrase "safer" for public use, does that mean safe or just not as dangerous uh oh confused thumbs up
linsdyjones;it's lovely to have you back.
In regard to this new cars;I thought of the same thing thumbs up teddybear
OK, so what I have to say isn't about a car, but it's close to the reason why we don't have all these "good' things. As lj say's, "profiteering".

When I was a young boy our schools used to have a program of entertainment and a couple of times a year the show would be a vast array of types of subjects.

One day a man came and showed us a number of inventions "that were on their way for us". One was a small black box with a cord and a lamp. You could strike a match right in front of the black box and the bulb would light up and stay lit. The energy emitted from the bulb would keep itself lit.

Hee Hee! Me thinks there's a lot of stuff like this collecting dust on shelves because there is no profit in them.
its just like the makers of the Harley davidson motor bikes .....they didn't make a fortune selling the bikes ...they made mega dollars selling the parts to keep them running ...laugh
As the say; energy cannot be created, only converted from one form to another. There is so much clean free energy floating around just waiting - begging - to be harnessed. bu as some said; no profit in it. I'm sure many a good patent had been bought out and shelved by the corporate world.
doh doh
actually that would be 8 ounces,or about 240 grams of Thorium!

so,lets not be hasty like we did with Uranium-Fuel!uh oh
