BEE STINGS!!!
My daughter blundered into a nest of ground hornets & got stung 25+ times.NOT life threatening...she's not allergic.
She is, however, MISERABLE!
Does anyone know any remedies to relieve the swelling/itching?
Besides feeling miserable, she is also feeling rather vengeful.
Does anyone know a good way to eradicate a nest of ground hornets?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Just call an exterminator and they will take them away .
The little beggars got her Ginger up, however.
It doesn't look good for em!

Your poor daughter. Its frightening as well as painful. This happened to my son some years ago. Try ice packs to bring the swelling down and hydrocortisone cream to aliviate the itch and pain.
As for getting rid of the nest? I don't know.
She may feel a bit differently toward bees from now on.
Awww! Sorry....
Mix honey & baking soda together! ( In a bowl)
And apply it on the area....
If they are in the ground and you know where, just lay a garden hose down there and turn it on. Let it soak the place for a day or 3. That usually works.
Unless they are under a flat rock or log or board, then the queen has shelter. If you don't get the queen, you got nothing. You'll know her if you see her. She will be about 4 times the size of the others and not really able to fly due to the big belly.
Another good trick, if you can spot the exit hole is soak it with Wasp spray. I usually bring 2 or 4 cans with me for such tasks. They will try to escape and you may find a second hole that needs soaking.
miclee, I`m sorry for youre daughter. Had my daughters with me picking cloudberries one time. Suddely my youngest one said, -look dad, all those flies... Lyckely only me who got stung, several times next to my right eye... The kids thought I looked funny for a while after that.
Y'all are a real wealth of info here!!
O.K. - I'm a guy.
I kinda favor those eviction methods involving fire/firearms.

might as well blow it up!"
The honey/cinnamon...
Do you...
eat it?
smear it?
either?
both?
"Might change her attitude toward bees..."
She's a softie for ALL animals.
When she was younger, she'd pet wasps.
Yes. Really!
She MIGHT take a more merciful attitude when she cools down...
literally & figuratively.
'Course...wasps are MUCH kinder & gentler critters than ground hornets!

Here you go...hope your daughter feels better soon...
Odd how coincidences go, CG. Just the day before, I heard a news item about a golfer whose errant shot flew into the woods. He went to retrieve the ball, and apparently had an experience like that of Daughter...
except he's no longer on this side of the sod.
I presume he was allergic & multiple stings killed him.
On the plus side, we know(!) Daughter's not allergic to insect stings.
Unless this episode sensitized her.
I tend to agree with AngelPepper…..We always used a water and baking soda paste directly on the sting…Only after you make sure no stingers were left behind in the areas. Glob it on the stings really thick. ….it will give her relief from the pain.
Good Luck…!!
vinegar helps too
