Texas cops too afraid to save the little children?

"That may be helpful for officers who responded in Uvalde to avoid accountability, but it's harmful to the folklore we’re often sold about police, both in pop culture and from lawmakers. Over the past two weeks, Republicans in particular have responded to high-profile mass shootings in Uvalde and Buffalo, New York, with calls for more police and more guns — essentially, anything but gun control. But that’s clearly not an adequate fix. Uvalde is proof that many officers simply won’t do the work conservatives suggest they will — especially under duress. And courts don't think that should be required of them"

"The Supreme Court ruling that suggests police in Uvalde won't face major consequences
A 2005 opinion by Justice Antonin Scalia could help law enforcement officials evade serious repercussions over their botched response to the Texas shooting"

World War 3

This is not a fear mongering post.

I'm only concerned about the possibility.

Question: are we in the verge of a global war?

I hope not, but witnessing what's happening between Russia and Ukraine, it's a possibility.

If Russia is left alone to do what it wants, what stops China from pursuing the same goal in Taiwan?

Will the super powers just watch it happen?

Anyone?

Trump tried to be a dictator and failed

You've got to be so freaking out of your mind to write such a lie.
Then again as far as I'm concerned you're brainless.

Then you follow it up with a claim saying " you're playing with the big boys and fail completely."

My gosh what? How ignorant can you be?

Then you post a video of Trump and that China man, and that's your basis on claiming, Trump tried to be a dictator and failed?

You've earned the crown of the worst liar there ever is. And pathetic as you will always be. Mao look alike.

Hanging Pence...

Back in the news is the story about Mike Pence not blocking the certification of the Electoral College vote. It appears Jonathan Karl 's book BETRAYAL The final act of the Trump show is being promoted.
Many of Trump's supporters were chanting "Hang Mike Pence" with a makeshift gallows fitted with a noose. Karl interviewed Trump about this and it's reported he defended those who chanted "Hang Mike Pence"
The only thing I see is Pence had no right/authority to block or overturn the election certification.

Joe Biden Lifts the Lid on US Policy on Taiwan

Apparently, Mr Biden has stated in no uncertain terms that the policy of the US is to defend Taiwan from invasion even militarily if the situation demands it.

It has always been known that the US stood on Taiwan's side, however, how far the US was prepared to go in case of a Chinese invasion was never made explicitly clear before. This policy of uncertainty was deliberate, and it was intended to discourage China from invading Taiwan while keeping Taiwan on its toes and preventing it from making rash decisions comfortable in the knowledge that the US would intervene if China made a move.

What is your opinion? I understand that Biden is concerned that the Russian invasion of Ukraine may encourage China to invade Taiwan, and that he wants to make absolutely sure that China doesn't dare; however, by coming clean, the US is now committed on the world stage. Not making good on its threats would be devastating politically.

Money at work - love this story

A self-made millionaire giving back - Harris Rosen, in Florida, USA, "adopted" a local community, Tangelo Park, offering free pre-school care to all children and scholarships to all graduates. Crime in the area fell by 50% and high school graduation has gone up steadily from 25% to 100%.

I don't think charity is good for people, because when it is easier to accept it than to go out and find work, the result is nearly always a parasitic mindset. This one, though - parents are freed up to go back to being productive, and youngsters are offered a reason to work hard and try for a future.

Probably the very last thing he'd want is to go into politics but THIS is where countries should look for leaders, or leaders should look for advice - those who help people to help themselves. JMO.

The four would have been pensioned off by now!

An anecdote …

In the late 50’s, I was just 5 years old, and I remember this incident as clear as day now in my late 60’s.

Anyhow, being originally from Rabat, our neighbour friends’ and family ‘walks’ most usually led to Buskett Gardens and at times Chadwick Lakes.

Teeming with wildlife (nowadays frogs, chameleons, hedgehogs and many birds are rightly protected) this particular outing I’m remembering was in the earlier part of that particular year.
And at the Lakes I saw tadpoles ! Thousands and thousands. And all I wanted were a few!

As everyone’s knows, tadpoles grow into frogs, so mum said “no”, but I wanted some and threw a tantrum. The politician in her led me to think I was having it my way when I was ‘allowed’ to take home 4 tadpoles in a can.

On arrival, seeing the murky water in the can I had carried them in, mum suggested I change it to cleaner water, and I did.

Being winter, the cleaner tap water was cold, so again mum came up with a simple suggestion ... “why don’t you add some hot water to keep the tadpoles warm !”
“Yeah, why not?”

And that was that!
It solved the tadpole to frog problem ...

And that’s how most politicians work. Promise you everything, but the real reason in the shadows is for them to better their own positions and situation.

And that, like this anecdote, is the reality of life.

Peace ??

Kavanaugh hurray! Another monumental victory for Trump

JUSTICE IS SERVED

"Republicans face a difficult 2018 midterm election in about one month’s time. But on its eve, the GOP just secured its greatest amount of political power and leverage since at least the Great Depression."
