Budget for the US!

I am beginning to lay a budget for my USA trip. These are based on my estimates, how much I usually spend here in Denmark, and how much I anticipate to spend each day.

My first draft came in at $196, which I thought was a bit.. Low.. I am going to be there for a week, after all, so $196 would seem a bit too low. I then did some tweaks, and added some things to it. This time, it came out to $536 for a week, which seems a bit more reasonable.

Food: $30 the first 6 days and $25 on the last day, for a total of $55.

Drinks: $62 for the week. I am not planning on going binge drinking. 3 crates of coca cola, a 40-pack of water and 4 drinks at $6 each seems reasonable. I might spend more or less on the drinks, but we'll see.

The biggest expenditure is entertainment. A massive $160 for the week, which gives me more than enough room to spend less, if needed. I don't think I will spend $20 a day on that, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

I will spend $76 on souvenirs for myself. I have found the perfect set for me to buy!

I am still going to bring close to $1000, which gives me a surplus of $464.

I will still tweak it a bit, but so far it looks alright. I am being picked up at the airport, and I am not going to stay in a hotel or do some sightseeing in NYC, since I am staying at her place in upstate New York, and I am pretty good with saving money anyway. This month, I have managed to live of $300. This is in a country that is 9.2% more expensive than the United States.

Given that there is a while until I travel, please bring your best money-saving tips, and let me know if my budget looks completely stupid.

TSA, questions, food and other stuff as well!

I had a look at some travel videos, particularly videos about flying into the US. Someone said in one video, that you had to fill out a TSA form, that lists your name, where you are from, your DoB, where you are staying and if you have anything to declare.

"Oh my," was my first thought. Then I found out, that the TSA asks five questions, when you arrive: Purpose of visit, length of stay, where you will be staying, what you do for a living and if I have anything to declare. The answers are similar to the form I have to fill in on the plane, so if I give the same kind of answers that I wrote on the form, I will be let into the US. I need to sort most of the things out, but, as someone pointed out in one of the comments on an earlier blog, I have a LONG time to go before my trip, but it doesn't hurt being prepared. I am an old boy scout, so I live by their motto: Be prepared!

Given all this light stress about securing my entry into the US, I have begun saving a lot of money. I do that by buying cheap items, that I can mix into something edible and tasty. I am also beginning to cook in batches, so I can freeze the food down, and thaw it up later. Yesterday, I spent $12,76 on things, that would result in two days worth of food. I am usually not a big eater, so I can easily get by with spending $15 per week. In Denmark, at least. I am not sure how long $100 will last me in the US. I might do some research on that. Which is the cheapest store to buy food?

In order to be VERY prepared, I plan to lay a budget for my entire week in the US. I really want to buy souvenirs to bring back home with me. Or maybe just something for myself. A flag or something. Maybe some shoes as well.

But in general, I am looking forward to the trip, as you can probably tell by my constant rambling about it. It's my first blog about this subject in four days, so it's not like I am bombarding you with blogs about the subject. As we get closer to my departure date, I will probably write a lot of blogs about it.

Surge in voters who say race card used against Trump 'for political gain'

A lot of people are starting to wake up and seeing what the democrat party (liberal socialists) is doing. These people have always used the race card to try to advance their agenda.

Surge in voters who say race card used against Trump 'for political gain'

Voters are largely split when asked if President Trump is a racist, but there has been a new surge in those who believe critics are using the race card for political gain against the White House.

A new Rasmussen survey found that 49% do not believe Trump is a racist. Another 47% do.

But it unveiled some new trends that highlight the current clash between the president and four House Democratic women of color.

The survey found, for example, that more voters than before believe Trump critics are using race to pound him.

And the percentage of those who think he’s a racist have shrunk.

“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 47% of all ‘Likely U.S. Voters’ think Trump is a racist, down slightly from 50% in January 2018. Slightly more (49%) disagree and say his opponents are accusing him of racism only for political gain, up from 43% in the earlier survey,” said a pre-release analysis of the poll posted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Florida man finds 24-year-old message in a bottle from Lake Michigan

I thought this was pretty interesting enough to share.

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. (WTHR) — In 1995, a man tossed a message in a bottle into Lake Michigan. Fast forward 24 years, and another man — on the Florida gulf coast — has found it.

Gary Henrickson said he found the bottle while he was relaxing in the water on Memorial Day Weekend, and it came bobbing by. He went home to uncork it and pulled the note out, realizing it smelled like bourbon.

"The note says: Hello, June 16, 1995, Frankfurt, Michigan. I've tossed this bottle into the water to bring joy to anyone who finds it. This whiskey bottle was full a few short hours earlier. If you find this call me, and I'll buy you a drink."

Henrickson sent a text message to the number in the note, and surprisingly, it worked and belonged to the note's original author. The two have been in touch since Henrickson found the bottle.

"He's 49 year's old now," Henrickson said. "It was a whole different time in his life, he said. He threw it in Lake Michigan, and we kind of talked about how it could've gotten down here. It's just an amazing, long, long way it had to go."

Their best guess: the Mississippi River.

I boiled three eggs

Since ``someone `` told me yesterday that Im a fat bastard - My mirror doesn’t work and I am a conspiracy theorist ,therefore I know that my bathroom scale is in cahoots with the law of gravity -I had no idea that I`m overweighted , I decided to get a new tattoo on my left arm ``Dont open the fridge`` big gothic letters
Anyhow
I boiled three eggs ,peeled them and smashed them with my bare hands ,yeah i have strong hands ... I chopped some onions,a tomato, green peppers added salt, grinded chilly peppers, vegetable oil and dug in ,, it was very delicious and spicy ...
30 minutes later, i was in the bathroom and spent most of the day there ...
moral of this story or lesson to be learned .
Although tomatoes are technically ,fruits ,they are always placed in the vegetable section in the supermarket
anyway be cartful which tomatoes you buy as they tend to treat them with different chemicals and can ruin your day ,,, or night

luckily i have a very powerful remedy disinfection called schnapps applause
