WASHINGTON (Reuters) - House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday President Donald Trump already has admitted to bribery in the Ukraine scandal at the heart of a Democratic-led inquiry, accusing him of an impeachable offense under the U.S. Constitution.
"The bribe is to grant or withhold military assistance in return for a public statement of a fake investigation into the elections. That's bribery," Pelosi, the top Democrat in Congress, told a news conference the day after the first public hearing in the impeachment inquiry she announced in September.
"What the president has admitted to and says it's 'perfect,' I say it's perfectly wrong. It's bribery," Pelosi said.
Democrats are looking into whether the Republican president abused his power by withholding $391 million in U.S. security aid to Ukraine as leverage to pressure Kiev to conduct two investigations that would benefit him politically. The money, approved by Congress to help a U.S. ally combat Russia-backed separatists in the eastern part of the country, was later provided to Ukraine.
Trump has denied any wrongdoing.
Another central figure - former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch - is due to testify on Friday in the second public hearing in the inquiry.
The inquiry threatens Trump's presidency even as he seeks re-election in November 2020. If the House approves articles of impeachment - formal charges - against Trump, the Senate would then hold a trial on whether to convict him and remove him from office. Republicans control the Senate and have shown little support for Trump's removal.
Pelosi's comments could offer a preview of articles of impeachment Democrats might put forward. At her news conference, she also said Trump's administration had committed "obstruction of Congress" by blocking testimony of officials summoned to testify in the inquiry.
The Constitution states that impeachable offenses include "treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors." Democrats have begun to use the words bribery or attempted bribery in discussing Trump's actions. According to precedent, obstruction could be another article of impeachment.
Republicans have said House Democrats already have decided to pass articles of impeachment, but Pelosi denied that was the case, saying the inquiry must play out before any decision can be made.
The focus of the inquiry is a July 25 phone call in which Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden and the former vice president's son Hunter, who had served as a board member for a Ukrainian energy company called Burisma. Trump also asked Zelenskiy to investigate a debunked conspiracy theory embraced by some Trump allies that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in the 2016 U.S. election.
Pelosi compared Trump's actions to former President Richard Nixon's conduct in the Watergate corruption scandal that led him in 1974 to become the only U.S. president to resign. Pelosi said Trump's actions to enlist a foreign power to help him in a U.S. election and the obstruction of information about that - she called it a cover-up - "makes what Nixon did look almost small."
The main complaint by the Republicans is that the evidence presented so far includes hearsay.
An aide for Taylor overheard a conversation of Trump's.
Don't be surprised, if that person who overheard Trump's conversation is called as a witness later.
That certainly doesn't prevent Republicans from coming up with more of their more ridiculous objections. However, together with testimony from the Roger Stone trial, it sure looks like Trump is burnt toast. Impeach !
Did anyone even watch the Democrat's impeachment show today? I mean they've had two months behind closed doors to rehearse this scam, and several years now of failed scams to learn their lesson from and they STILL couldn't convince my 4 year old niece of anything. I'd call it a nothing-burger but it was more like a nothing hot dog. I mean hot dogs are 8 for a buck. This thing was so boring and pointless it made the Democrat's Kavanaugh scam seem like the first moon landing.
All I could think about was that we are PAYING A FORTUNE FOR THIS. I mean can you imagine the millions of dollars going to waste while Democrats fritter away government time and resources that could be being used to do the peoples' business instead of this nonsense?
Anyway, if you missed it I envy you. I had a hard time keeping my eyes open all day after I watched it and I had a lot of important things to get done.
Tucker Carlson hit the ball out of the park tonight explaining what's behind the Democrat's impeachment scam (other than desperately trying to gin up yet another phony charge against President Trump like the Russian collusion, obstruction and all the other phony charges they've leveled against him since the day he won the election to try to hang it around his neck in a desperate attempt to try to hurt him for the 2020 election).
Anyway, rest assured you didn't miss anything except a bunch of people telling a congressional committee what they overheard their Uncle Joe tell their cousin Jim that his wife's sister overheard a co-worker say about her long distance lover who used to know Eric Trump in elementary school and thinks he heard him say that his father didn't give him his allowance one week and that's bribery and extortion. Trust me, it was that stupid.
Anyway, watch this...

The fearsome VIERK/Swedish Political Pathology King Olaf/Nobel Memorial Research Institutet may have stumbled onto a partial cure for severe types of Trump Derangement-Hilary Deficit Syndromes. (TD-HDS). Quite painful, and costly in time, money and possible harmful side effects, but so far, 92 out of 100 hithertoo hopeless clinical trial cases have had their scores on the proprietary political GOM (grounded open mindedness meter) raised by a full 75%. I would give details, oh my most deserving CS comrades, but we may be wired in for the next Nobel Prize in Physiology. However, for those who pay close attention to my astute blogs, I hinted at a number of hypotheses on target to the cures. All well within the past fortnight, cherubim. But for private paying patients, we do make exceptions, if the price is right. Why change the usual approach to private pay health care? Please call the Institutet at 044-69-NIXCLUBCOUP, for special offer details on our generous payment plans. Live operators are standing by. We were in Miami last weekend doing more house renovation to prepare for a sale. One thing needed was to pressure clean the sidewalk and front porch. My helper
insisted doing this project and pushed me aside. She's got control of the pressure now. How much pressure? It would appear to be 1800 psi.
I had no choice but to run to Home Depot for some supplies...

Bloomberg Offers Trump Ten Billion Dollars to Leave White House by End of Day
From The New Yorker;

November 8, 2019
NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—The former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg upended the 2020 Presidential race on Friday by offering Donald J. Trump ten billion dollars to leave the White House by the end of the day.
“I will deposit ten billion dollars into your account in Moscow, Riyadh, or wherever you do your banking these days,” Bloomberg announced. “All you have to do is go.”
In addition to the ten-billion-dollar offer, Bloomberg told Trump that he would cover the moving expenses of Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Kellyanne Conway, and any other associates “that you haven’t already gotten rid of.”
On Capitol Hill, congressional Democrats expressed sadness that Bloomberg’s offer, if successful, would eliminate the need for impeachment, which many of them had been looking forward to.
But Representative Adam Schiff of California struck a more philosophical note. “If ten billion dollars gets rid of Donald Trump, that’s a quid pro quo I’m okay with,” he said.

He writes The Borowitz Report, a satirical column on the news. I do think, that most US citizens would pitch in some cash to have officially The Worst US president in history to get to step down.
Now, most of us don't have $10 Billion to contribute, but maybe together we can surpass it.
Nonetheless, instead, we will first have to await the decision of the Senate after the impeachment trial.
There have been many allegations and many protests which had their results.
Yes, BOTH the president and vice president of the country finally resigned over improper election procedures.
The citizens rejoice and celebrate !
The country now has a woman, who was next in line, as the president of the country.
Congratulations to her, the citizens, and the country for outing criminal leadership, setting an example for the rest of the world.

Was going to write on sleep hygiene, or issues north and south/east and west, nationalism speaking, but C's blog got me coveting my CS neighbor's goods. A visit from the CS cyberscrutinizer? How unfair. With all my highly copious and acerbic ranting here, and not a few bidirectional personal attacks, on everything from my intelligence, to my stature, to my age appropriate shrinking manhood,----well, my envy almost got the best of me, my fair minded CS fellow bozos on the bus. So this BLOG. Don't you all think it unfair that I am being so cavalierly and unjustly overlooked? Why, for all I do to stirr things up here, and to get a few limited number of brain neurons French kissing, you'd think that CS would visit me. Not merely on the shamelessly lavishly appointed CS member home visit traveling van. But in the IT ether herself, AND a few nights on the manicured VIERK mansion kilometer long driveways. With all holds on the van chock full of wonderful and expensive presents, for..........................................ME! The servants would be glad to haul it all into one of the guest cottages. Ah, but long ago, in another life, concerning jealousies, I learned---that it's not a fair universe, and---"Eifersucht ist eine Leidenschaft,-wer mit Eifer sucht, was Leiden schaft". Hope this isn't the hook for the VIERK. Alors, Pereat les narcissismes, sur CS.
In honor of our wounder warriors. In 2017 Trace Adkins was on the Country Music Awards, and gave a very emotional and moving performance of "Till The Last Shot's Fired," accompanied by the West Point Glee Club. One of the most touching, moving things I've seen. If you can watch this and not tear up, there's something wrong with you.
